Fair enough but you know, where they take those polls/surveys can have a profound effect on the numbers returned. I know when I travel to certain locales, numbers seem to be way up. I know I've never been asked by anybody other than MTBR or Pinkbike surveys which are likely loaded with people who at least think that are hardcore. I ride 3 days a week and really don't label myself as hardcore....maybe an "enthusiast". At least half the group I religiously ride with only ride on Saturdays but they road trip it a couple times a year. I have 6 committed to Whistler next July :) I wonder if they are considered hardcore?

Once the floodgates toe bike access are open, the sky is the limit to what we'll see on the trails which is the concern for trail access in the future. This new Segway bike actually looks pretty cool and MSRP for the top model is $4500.
The cats out of the bag on ebikes.
Saturday talked to a guy on STT for a moment, he was on an ebike, and he mentioned how fun it was. As he took off uphill without pedaling at all.....
Bike was a 10 yr old speshy with battery/motor added.

The lines are blurred between moto's and ebikes.

On Sunday after my son and I rode Maple Springs, we decided to stop at Cook's Corner for lunch. They had live music and a lot of motorcycles rolling in, so they directed the mountain bike car traffic to the back lot. I parked there with my son, and as we were getting out of the car (covered in dirt and grime from our ride) it was hard not to notice that I didn't see a SINGLE mountain bike in the entire parking lot. EVERY SINGLE BIKE was an e-bike.

Saw 3 guys loading e-bikes onto a rack for a shuttle run down the Merrills and Sunset-it's 90% downhill!

The end is nigh...

(Full disclosure - I have an irrational hatred of e-mtbikes. I never tell the lazy bastards what I think, because it's useless. They will simply smirk and say something like "you're just jealous..." Would that be justifiable homicide?)

Disclaimer - E-mtbikes are fine for those who absolutely need them due to physical ailment.
