The Center for Biological Diversity is petitioning the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to re-introduce the grizzly bear in California and seven other states. How cool is that?!? The Sierra Nevada, baby! Let’s go camping!
Come on, start where they left off. Drop a small group in Holy Jim where plenty of slow, juicy meat will be once they open up the canyon. Win/win.

The Bikecraze.com/electric bikes ad just popped up on the forum homepage again. Thanks a lot @Faust29...:D

Although we may see the difference, it wouldn't make sense for Google Ads to differentiate between bikes and e-bikes when carpet bombing us. You're going to see more e-bike ads based off of your regular bike searches, because they're the fastest growing segment of the bike industry.

Of course. I was just having a little fun with it, at your cost, since @Mikie lovingly blames this fiasco on you. :p

Touche! Sadly...

Have you not seen the rash of recent "scientific" studies which reveal the fact that mountain e-biking is actually more healthy for you than pedaling those antiquated relics. :D Those studies are of course funded by the industry, involve a limited number of participants and appear publications that feature profitable advertising of the said products. :gag:

I think I liked the e-bike ads better. :cautious:

No comment. Skip to about the 30 second mark...

Wow...and that piece of Sh!t in red continues to shop the rifle. Yes...these are the types of people who are good candidates for firearm ownership. Priorities definitely in the right place. Unfortunately for the innocent child, they’re in a state that don’t take kindly to govt agencies telling them how to live and what to do, so that child gets to go home with them tonight and hopefully not get a hold of the guns around the house. Maybe the cat or Nickelodeon can keep watch.

According to The Path:
if you switch from organic to metallic brake pads it is a good idea to also change your rotor!

Pads and a rotors pair when small amounts of pad material are bedded onto the rotor, so an older rotor will not perform optimally with a new pad type because it's bedded to the other pad material.

It's also a good idea to keep an eye on rotor wear in general. SRAM recommends replacing brake rotors when the brake track measures less than 1.55 millimeters thick.

who can find the split infinitive?

Did you run your pads down too far?

An infinitive cannot be split. The Latinists were anal. :Roflmao They couldn't figure out how to boldly go...

A) They are starting from a low number where the only way to go is UP

B) More importantly, most of these ebike sales are city bikes, cruisers, etc...

C) They are MOPEDS!!

I don't disagree with your points, but the reality is that the number of "hardcore bikers" (defined as riding once or more per week) has declined by 15% in the last decade.

That's why you have the big mountain bike manufacturers selling mountain bike versions of e-bikes - and causing trail access issues.

Maybe that's why my non-biking friends call me a hardcore mountain biker. I'm not hardcore as prefer calmer trails than some. I'm just having fun 1-4x per week. Now some of the others on this site.......
And by looking at the trails here in OC, the number of bikers has increased considerably over the last 5 years so question the decline you noted.

I'd think the cost of entry is a road block to the Newbs thinking of getting in the sport. I'm going to guess my amount spent on bikes, parts/service, accessories, etc rivals that of my car.

Fair enough but you know, where they take those polls/surveys can have a profound effect on the numbers returned. I know when I travel to certain locales, numbers seem to be way up. I know I've never been asked by anybody other than MTBR or Pinkbike surveys which are likely loaded with people who at least think that are hardcore. I ride 3 days a week and really don't label myself as hardcore....maybe an "enthusiast". At least half the group I religiously ride with only ride on Saturdays but they road trip it a couple times a year. I have 6 committed to Whistler next July :) I wonder if they are considered hardcore?

Once the floodgates toe bike access are open, the sky is the limit to what we'll see on the trails which is the concern for trail access in the future. This new Segway bike actually looks pretty cool and MSRP for the top model is $4500.
