Yeah, that's it.....there is no work or money in other states. My son's a police officer in AZ making about $120K this year, my daughters an RN in Northern VA making over $100k, my niece in a Nurse Practitioner in Northern LA making over $150K, her husband is an ER doctor making over $400K, a nephew in law owns a State Farm branch in Northern LA and pulls in 7 figures (he's worked in LA his entire career other than 2 years in Arkansas).

It was tounge in cheek, and also that quite a few people make their money here in CA then move out and complain about it which IMO is hypocritical.

Certainly didn't mean to piss anyone off that's for sure, but hit a nerve so my apologies.

But, An ER docs at 400k?. No wonder health insurance is so f@cking expensive. Lol and a head of ER I knew made over a Mil a year. Until Sh!t like that ends our health care will be over priced for all but the well insured and wealthy.

Why is it hypocritical? People don't choose where they are born, where their family decides to live and a bigger factor for those of us that are older....maybe CA didn't suck quite so bad at one point? I'll leave it at that before we go down some political rabbit hole.

As far as doctors salaries, I don't know what to tell you. All I know is they pay a plethora of $$$ to go through college. A co-worker of mine had a wife that was a pharmacist and I know she was still paying $800 per month at age 40 towards her student loans. I have another friend who was dating an anesthesiologist in the 90's and her MONTHLY malpractice insurance was $13K. A relative just found out she had cancer so I was googling life expectancies and on the border of the article was job postings all. over the country for oncologists. The lowest salary I saw was $375K and most were over $500K.

In 1983 I had a Dr bill of 750k. That millions now. Was my life worth that? Probably not.

And student loans as are almost all loans a choice. Don't want the debt don't take the loan. I learned that the hard way.
But docs can do what my Bro did, trained at the Navy, did 8 years there and left with a medical career and no loan. Options.


And I truly think social media sucks and I should do what a lot are doing and stop.

La has a rail trail, it is fun and long. It is not flat as you can see about 7 miles in one part. The ranger has a scooter and you can see the head lights dip down as they get around Bayou LaComb. It is paved with no cars. it is just the wind resistance holding you back. I try to hold big ring, little cog but eventually you have to drop a gear for awhile. St. Tammany Trace, it even has a brewery. I do not stop because it is a long way back to the hotel. Massive elevation gain of 60 ft in 27 miles

This is where my job is, my family, where I ride on endless single track. But that is no excuse to take 34 dollars a fill up and then blame it on someone else. It has come to the time where I need to assess my situation in terms of income and taxes. There is no place like Ca taxes and we fee people more, although NY tries, they are not even close. When it is time for me to battery, maybe I will just ride roads instead

ER docs getting $400k a year makes way more sense than baseball players (or basketball, or football, etc) making $20 million a year. I don't begrudge doctors big money for all the "learnin'" they had to do, the skills they possess and the liability they face.

No one's pissed. It's OK to call people out on inconsistency between thought and action, and it's OK to disagree and still respect another person too.

PS: I have never bought a ticket to a professional sporting event, nor bought jerseys or other professional team paraphernalia. My hypocrisy is that I still enjoy sports once in a while.
