Tizzzzzz the season

I woke up to a text from my old friend Topher, he and I grew up in CDM together. Taco Loco is an institution to us.
As teens, they had a Monday night $1.99 Tofu Mushroom burger deal that seemed to attract every vegan punk and hardcore kid in the county. That tofu mushroom burger is still one of my favorite meals ever. And Gonzo was always super annoyed at the counter when you'd ask for more than one sauce on your burger.

I might have to take a weekday off this month to make the pilgrimage.

I've lived here 21 years. Never ate there. I guess it's too late to start now. Maybe it's my fault they're pulling up stakes and/or shuttering the shop.

Personally, I never was in sync with the stoner vibe. Maybe that was prejudice and projection on my part. Anyway - sad to see a local (loco) institution call it quits. Too much of that happening. :(

Really? Wow, that’s kind of wild. I’m not a stoner culture fan either but their tacos and tofu mushroom burgers are/were amazing.

I took my wife when we were first dating. She’s an E. Texas meat eater through and through but even she loved the tofu mushroom burger.

I might even take a weekday to ride Laguna or Aliso and get one last meal in there. Thank Gonzo for all the good memories.

So, unless I am not reading for comprehension again .... there is no real advantage either way and it is personal preference. Well, unless you get a lot of pedal strikes, in which case your riding technique is bad and crank length is not going to fix that anyway. :p

I had no idea what mine were .... checked, and they are apparently 175mm. I see no reason to change based on that article. :Roflmao

I don't think most people could tell the difference in crank lengths once they've been riding for more than a minute or two. I certainly can't (put 160mm Canfields on my Rail, have 170 or 175 on the Spur). It's like going back and forth from 27.5 to 29er.

But I do see far fewer pedal strikes at 160mm. So I must only suck at riding when I have longer cranks?

Annoying thing is Waltworks (custom frame builder) in the comments saying "great, with shorter cranks I can make the BB height even lower!" FU, BB heights are plenty low enough right now thanks.

Exactamundo!

When I lived in Colorado (1972-1999), I was a pretty hardcore Denver Broncos fan. It was required - along with Subarus, Yetis and Siberian Huskies.

Kinda hard to be a Denver Broncos fan tonight. :bang:

Well, at least we have Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffa.... oh wait, what? Never mind.

I don't follow football, or any sports for that matter, but that this game came up on my news feed tells me it was a pretty bad loss.

Don't jump ship, this is when they need you!
Or be like me, shug your shoulders and go do something fun .
On a similar note, turned on the TV the other night and 4 network stations had college ball on :gag:. LOL, a little hard up for content these days. :Roflmao

I worked at a higher end bar in my 20’s while going to school. El way came in a few times and was always very pleasant. He never paid for drinks-I will say that. Someone was always coming up and offering to buy hi. A drink. Same with Slash, Mike Ness and the drummer from Green Day.

on the foot ball front; I mentioned on a morning call today that I’m a UT fan. And, as much as I love football and UT. I don’t actually know how to talk about college football…
As soon as I said that, I had like a dozen SLACK messages about collage football.
So, if anyone has some opinions…
All o had to say was that I’m hopeful we’ll demolish TCU.

I really don't watch or follow professional or college sports anymore. I never was hardcore, but I could name at least 5 people and a coach or two on any team I rooted for. Not any more. Maybe that's because I can't remember anything anyway. Wait - what were we talking about?
That's funny, I can't remember players' names either. But, my father-in-law knows the names and what small town in Texas each one is from. Sometimes even what their parents do.
When they still lived in Austin we were out there for a few weeks over covid, I was working on my laptop in the kitchen and kept hearing this same song on a loop on the tv. I go, "Hey, Tom, what are you watching?"

He kind of snaps out of his trance and says, "Oh, the schedule says they're gonna rerun an old UT game on this channel." He'd been watching a pretty much blank screen for maybe 30-minutes waiting for that game.:Roflmao

Jackson Wy has 8 electric buses. each cost over a million of your tax dollars. Joe B gave congrats to the builder.Proterra. so they are less than two seasons old. They run the busses on hydroelectric and wind power. Proterra just went bankrupt. The 8 electric buses are all broken and they have no idea when parts will be available. The busses are dead in the bus yard. So diesel busses run the system, and will continue to until being replace by more electric busses on order. When the electrics were working in winter they could only operate for 1/2 day as the battery charge degraded in the cold. diesel buses made up the rest of the shift because the electric ones could not charge fast enough. The Jackson fleet is 39 buses, so the non working ones are 20% of the fleet
Gosh I cannot make up this stuff, it makes me LMAO

Sounds like the electric R&D needs to ramp up quick and have the diesel technology support its progress. Another funny thing is progress continues without our opinions.
