In Other News

The rabbit hole beckons...Sweet Home Alabama wasn't about Skynyrd. It was about the vast majority of the people of Alabama who didn't go along with the "guvnor."
"In Birmingham they loved the guvnor...boo boo boo. Now we all did what we could do." Most people don't understand that line.

I think Neil Young did.

One of these days you'll learn my sense of humor. The winking emoji should have been a hint.

You know Mr. Young sang about her....

And ate crow later. Skynyrd & Young got along famously - even wore each others T-shirts at their concerts. But Neil Young later admitted that "Southern Man" was tripe. Not well though out.
I had heard that as well. Not so much about Southern Man, but that Van Zant and Neil got along quite well before and after their respective songs of dis. Not sure how a Canadian and a southern man's paths crossed to the point of knowing each other, but that's the story.

In reply to Bvader post: I was at the west end of San Miguel. in about 30' and came to a cliff which had a ton of muscle shells spilling over, all open and empty. A little later I came across the Alpha male. We were together well up under the island. He looked at me and thought you must be some kind of dumb schist. Here is info on my pal; Elephant seals are the largest extant carnivorans, weighing up to 8,800 pounds. They can reach up to 20 feet in length

Well, the dude hunts pythons for a living so he is crazy even for Florida.

Florida is crazy... :inlove: :inlove: :inlove: We had a small 4 foot gator that lived under our driveway for a summer, but the funniest sight ever was seeing our head school custodian using a push broom to get a 6 footer out of the center courtyard before kids showed up for summer school. He chased it about 200 yards to get it back into a retention pond.

Or... Playing golf on the Palm course at Disney, and having a dinosaur walk down the middle of the fairway, completely oblivious to the golf carts. Rule 1- Don't look for lost balls. o_O

I was interested in entering a python collecting derby in Florida. @Faust29 could be my tour guide since he used to live there, but he didn't seem crazy about the idea.

My point is, crazy people aren't just in Florida. :D

And see... I can picture myself on the beach at Anna Maria Island, or sipping a beer at The Hog's Breath Saloon in Key West. Maybe making a stop at Baby's Coffee... :inlove:

In none of these visions do I see myself looking for snakes. :cautious::laugh:

Who else sees inspiration for Jabba The Hut.

Apparently only available until September 6th on Netflix. I highly recommend it.

"If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd"

I watched it last night. Unfortunately the vast majority was unintelligible. I may have to invest in Bluetooth-assist hearing aids. :bang:

The parts I could hear and decipher were good. Particularly the concert scenes.
