I Rode My Bike Today...

I would love to ride theses trails, flying down like that ... but honestly...
I'm done w pushing my boundaries... if u ride long enough u seen too many crashes...
car wreck, five oaks is more than enough for me...
going back to the floop hopefully today!
Awesome, kc, we have some skirts my old lady was gonna donate to goodwill... :sneaky::geek:

Just a friendly raz, brother. :) Nobody needs any excuse to ride something or not. Whatever's good for you is good – period. Now,...not riding because somebody else crashed? o_O:cool: Pad up, be careful and show em how it's done...on the floop if ya must! :D

Another loop from home. This time I went over towards Rocky Peak. Tapo Canyon/Chivo/Las Llajas/Seashells/Rocky Peak/Stagecoach. Now I'm thinking of a way to tie yesterday's ride and today's ride together. Seems it would be around 60 miles and 8k. Maybe on my next vacation.

Did a quickie this afternoon, later than originally planned. Parked at GSC, where a lil' mtn bike hottie was gearing up, too. She got going before me, motoring up the switchbacks to the first lookout where I passed by her, greeted her, and then continued on to climb up and out and over to Cherry Canyon. Did the usually loop-d-loop through there. Encountered a cycling team of some sort, ages ranged from early to late teens and all of them were riding Rocky Mountain XC bikes.

It's getting greener by the hour here now.

I took my monster cross on Mendenhall ridge on Sunday for the first time since before the Sand Fire. The closure signs are gone and there's an updated map at Bear Divide, but for some reason they haven't put the updated notice online. The road's in great condition, most of the side-wall slashing rock gardens are gone, even 700x32s would probably be okay up there right now. It looks like the grading went down into Pacoima Canyon, unfortunately I was only able to go in about 10 miles before running out of time and turning around.

today i did west horsethief to trabuco, hoping for at least some tacky dirt. Despite a little bit of rain in the past few days, i've never seen that canyon so dry in february. There was some moisture in the soil, but not a lot. At least the weather was proper february cool and cloudy and it wasnt summer dusty. Still had fun, had it all to myself except for a rider doing the trabuco-bell loop with his dog and a handful of hikers near the end. Wouldve went up to yeager if the soil was tackier (and if I was feeling stronger-still not quite 100% after being sick. Jesus.). Maybe next time.

How was the West Horsethief hike? I haven’t been up it in awhile and need to try it before VQ...
