I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Men’s Retreat with my church. Murrieta Hot Springs.
I felt the presence of great mountain bikers near by...

Mt. High again today. Chain law in effect just past Wrightwood. They let me go with just my handy dandy Quattro and decent tires. Didn't need anything more than that.

10 runs on skis including several runs of fresh tracks in 6-8" of fresh snow. Definitely not "powder" but absolutely magic nonetheless. :) Conditions were challenging with occasionally strong winds, near zero visibility at times and wet sleet falling. But my clothes were fine, so no problem there.

Then 6 runs on snowboard. Struggled a little on heelside turns with the choppy, heavy snow. Kinda had a "jackhammer" thing going with my board as I was completing the heelside turn ready to go frontside. Chime in if you know what causes this or how to correct it. I imagine it is too much edge pressure down the fall-line rather than the direction of the turn. Just not sure how to fix it. Resulted in a pretty comical fall and long slide on my last run.

Left at 12:45. On the way down, Mr. Trooper was still forcing vehicles to chain up just past Wrightwood on roads that had no ice or snow on them - just wet up to the ski area. I felt bad for them, and fortunate for me.

No lift lines longer than 2-3 minutes. 16,000'

Go Broncos!

Luckeeee! Feeling a little jealous as we’re house bound due to the rain and SB game

Soooo...what your opinion of spin class?

While awaitng @UPSed's accounting, I'm gonna say that while I've never done a spin class it has to be kept in perspective. It's not like a bike ride. The purpose is a workout, pure and simple. As long as you can approach it that way you'll be fine. If you think it's supposed to emulate a bike ride, well, you're sorely mistaken. :Roflmao

I’m with you, I truly wasn’t expecting to feel like I was on a bike ride..the experience was just wayyy different that what I’d imagined. It was part disco club, part boot camp and part gym rat vibe for me
But to each his/her own! Do what floats your boat, no judgement.;)

Haven't ridden in a week(an eternity for me). Could just blame the weather but I pulled or tore up something in my leg about 2 weeks ago that's had me hobbling around like a little old man. I've had a super tight almost cramping calf and pain behind my knee. Riding easy last week didn't seem to hurt but didn't seem to help either so the weather gave me a good excuse to take it easy. Felling better now so I may test it out tomorrow.

I am having persistent back trouble/pain that is affecting my posture which is causing related pain in my hips and legs. I blame all of it on the cold temps and the inability to ride recently due to the weather and excessive work demands. It sucks getting older...
Yoga gentlemen...that’s all I have to say:sneaky:
That and get better soon:D
