I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Because we partied too hard last night.....

Got shanghaied into doing yard stuff, digging up dead plants and planting live ones. Then got around to cleaning my road bike....way too long since the last time I took everything apart to clean. I was embarrassed and no one even saw it.

While doing that I found that one of the crank arm pinch bolts was much looser than the other. Somehow it's missing a washer. o_O The rest was pretty straightforward. The cassette took the longest to clean up. It was nasty.

Day's not over yet. I may go do an evening FLoop later. :whistling:

I think I have a boil on my ass, right where the seam of my undies rubs on the saddle. TMI? We're all family here, right? Anyway, dosing it with sulfur treatment which dries out acne something crazy-like, and not riding today or maybe tomorrow and hoping for the best for Hell Ride. If I can't get this to dissipate by then, it will be a looooong Saturday on the saddle...

Pics or it didn't happen....

But I did go for a family hike in the canyon. First time in the trails up there heading up to the falls. Now that the little guy can hang a bit longer, will probably try to do it on the regular. Decent workout with 25lbs of toddler strapped to my chest.View attachment 45671 sorry folks, bikes are off the menu on this one.
The little guy is almost a heavy as a bike. Good practice for a HAB.
Family time is great. I used to carry my son on hikes - he is 36 now. Where did the time go? We did ride together today:).

Did I or didn't I? I rode my 3 spd beach cruiser down to Trestles and back. It included dirt trail. It's about 3 miles total. 100 ft. of elevation gain.

So is this a bike ride or not? I think not. Surfing was fun, however. Water temps back to 68° after dipping to the low 60s. Boards are fun!

If your pedals made at least one revolution during the course of the outing, then it's a ride. Your surfing was just a bonus.

I'm not riding today because I have to start packing up for the 12-13 hour trek home from Durango 1st thing tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to having to ride our local trails on a regular basis after some of the rides I've done here the last 8-10 days. Time to start planning another, shorter road trip. I'm thinking Sedona.

Cuzz... On the Front Range, 20% chance of rain and snow can mean a big black cloud bank could envelope your area and pound you with wind, rain and hail. The good news...it started just before we did, so no wet clothes and muddy bikes.

Is that a Sunday AM weather window I see...or a mere peep-hole? We try tomorrow.

Had a flat tire-on my van. Total pain in the ass to change. For some reason, I decided to use the jack and implements that came with the van... Bad mistake. I was putting on a show for the neighbors when I busted out the cheater bar and socket for the lug nuts. You know they're tight when they slowly, almost imperceptibly at first, then silently give before the freeing, cracking noise. That was followed by "ahhhhs" from the sidewalk voyeurs.
Took the tire in to be looked at, and they couldn't find a leak.
WTF?
