We checked out some new dirt, er, mud today on foot.

That roadcut mound on the other side of the freeway is the start of Dakota Ridge. It heads away from the POV so you can’t see it. We’re really on the same ridge, just north of the freeway roadcut.

Synthetic turf fields stand out like a sore thumb in climates where real grass goes dormant (i.e. Colorado).

I can't tell you the number of times I've driven through that cut through the rock on I-70. Maybe thousands?

Nope.....no ride today.

The Professor brought his bike over so I could change out some suspension bearings on his Yeti ASR-c. We had ordered the bearings a few weeks ago and they came in.

Got the old bearings....turns out we got the wrong bearings. Send him down to the local bearing house.....Closed.

Turns out it wasn't such a bad thing. Looking over the rear end, noticed some cracking around one of the cable guides. Also noticed that the non drive side seatstay link/shock mount was elongated and cracked. Warranty or not....time for a new rear end.

To add salt to the wind, his rear shock hadn't been serviced in 3 years....time to go back to Fox. Since we were sending the rear shock back, might as well send the 1.5 year old fork as well.

Service at J's Garage is expensive.

Today I had two choices neither of which included riding my bike.
1) attend a four hour long birthday party with a bunch of kids and people I don’t know.
2) stay home with Rusty and chip away at the honey do list.
So I stayed home with the dog. Didn’t like the idea of changing the garbage disposal( I frikkin hate plumbing projects and going to Home Depot). Instead I opted to pull all the Christmas decorations down from the rafters and then hang the lights. I’ve got this down to an exact science. Stands are numbered and hooks under the eves make this easy. I’ve also got a strict one beer per light strand rule. Only fell of the ladder once so I may alter the ratio a bit next year. I never did get strand #6 to work but still seems like a successful day.

I rode my bike today and did my honey do's when I got home. Jennifer was ecstatic that I put up the lights today. I went with one margarita per strand though.
