I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Making the best of it during an injury speeds healing IMO, good for you!
TWO broken feet..sheet, I can’t imgaine! Trail running is deep in my bones, giving that up would be cruel and unusual punishment, sorry you’re running days are over.
Thanks Sara. Trail running and boulder scrambling are the two most fundamental sports/activities I can think of in the mountains. But losing those options pushed me to mountain biking and trail work, so happy ending here.

Just got back from my third visit with Dr. Bob. Told me it would be a miracle if I’m back on my bike within 4 months...:coffee:

So...

Had a good exploration/see if I can get lost ride planned for bright and early this morning but Rusty had a rough night. He woke up gagging about 2am and continued on and off the rest of the night. Dry old man smoker type cough/gag but nothing coming up. Think it’s kennel cough even though he’s vaccinated. Maybe a call or trip to the vet in a bit. Perhaps the same ride plan will work out tomorrow.

Sorry to hear. Best wishes for Rusty and family.

I know, you're tired of hearing about surfing. But, I have to share this.

I went to surf with my friend Brian at Bolsa Chica (Huntington Beach) this morning. 2-3' lumpy, messy, crowded (like Waikiki crowded), cloudy and pockets of cold water. Still had fun, but the waves were weird and the crowd was a factor on every wave. Since I had the entire day to myself, courtesy of wife and daughter going to Disneyland, I was not satisfied.

So, after breakfast burritos with Brian, I drove to the other end of the County, in fact into San Diego County to the San Onofre Bluffs (Trails) area where I knew the crowd would be thinner. OMG - three other surfers in over a 1/4 mile stretch. Waves were slightly bigger and more frequent than Bolsa, sunny, calm, 77° water. Ahhhh, now that's what I was looking for. Waves were a little mushy and tricky to catch, but so much more fun without 100 of my closest friends either in the way or trying for the same wave.

Here is a picture of the crowd when I got there at about 12:30.

So two two-hour sessions today. I am gassed but happy!
