Well crap..no bueno!I'll work on that for tomorrow morning..but it'll be on the drop bar bike.
And I have to answer a subpoena as a witness. There goes my morning.
So... Do you think you can take @Mikie in a crutch race???
How do we arrange this, and who's taking the bets?
You and @Mikie ought to have a race!Crutching around the block x2, .6 miles, 64ft elevation gain....don’t be jealous
The word "skim" was named after me and my antics. In fact, if you look it up in the Webster's dictionary, you will see a picture of my smiling face and a brief history for the need to invent the word. Now we know who skims the thread.
Lol, you can be my manager HerzScouting report reveals @Mikie is relegated back to walker. Sounds like the format of the competition needs to be changed accordingly...
WALKER RACE! Wear pads and helmets - full contact allowed.

Noooooo! @LLPoolJI half-heartedly meant to get out for a pre-work ride this morning but I had the wrong bike out. That won't happen again.
Crutch races are boring. Wheel chair races are where it's at. That would even the odds.@SnakeCharmer you’re a genius
You’re right about that, ok I need a wheelchair and time to practiceCrutch races are boring. Wheel chair races are where it's at. That would even the odds.

Can you even suggest that bad E word on this forum?E-wheelchair?
It's just possible that a wheelchair race could keep you two from backsliding in your recoveries. No guarantee.. but possible. If I was your coach, I'd vote "No" on canes, crutches, walkers; three-legged races..
I kind of like the work of crutches, even though it’s exhaustingI spent two months in a wheelchair recovering from a rock climbing accident. It was great! But I only had access to a standard hospital wheelchair, and handled like crap on anything other than flat or level surfaces. And I was living in Mammoth at the time, trying to work out around Lake Mary. Haha! Not advised!
I eventually found a long flat straightaway outside of town and drove out there to train. Even there, that hospital wheelchair couldn't handle the crown of the road and continuously turned onto the unpaved shoulder. The solution was to ride right down the center and keep an eye out for traffic, of which there was very little.
I was just getting ready to rent or borrow a racing wheelchair when my doctor relegated me to crutches. Dammit!
Interesting you would ask him that..Can you even suggest that bad E word on this forum?

You must have been a sight in that rolling chair
Do you still climb?
Making the best of it during an injury speeds healing IMO, good for you!Crutches and wheelchairs are great for upper body strength. I got much stronger after 4 months total + PT. (Rowing machine was good, too.)
I can't imagine what people thought when they saw me rolling down the middle of the road!?! Very little traffic out on the road to Benton, but still at least one vehicle per workout. I'd roll to the shoulder and let 'em pass, but then get back in the middle, lock that centerline between my footrests and go like hell! There was a slight climb at the far end before the turn-around, and the descent would get that funky chair shimmying at 5mph! Yeehaw!
I continued to climb while I lived in Mammoth. I had to stay close to the ground with bouldering, cuz my broken feet didn't do well with jumping/landing. But I was able to top rope, follow and lead, and I did that until I moved down to OC and would've had to drive to climb. Almost put up a big climbing wall in my new townhome with it's high ceilings, but moved on to road and mountain biking, which I could do right from home. Sadly, my trail running days were over, which I continue to miss.. 20 years later.
As soon as I can bend the left knee, happy baby(balasana) is on!I think we need a happy baby pose contest.....
