I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Bad dermatologist appointment timing. 6 inch football cut out of my back. 2 more weeks off the bike!!

Dang, hopefully that’s the end of it. I’ve had many biopsies come back suspect so they cut more out and even had a couple where they did repeat hacks on the same spot to get it all. Been a few years since any scares so consistently seeing the dermo is key, I only have to go twice a year now. Healthy vibes!

@mike and @littlewave , Hope you guys heal-up quick!

My son had another student back into his car at school yesterday. I got up and went looking for an estimate only to find out that most body shops are closed weekends...wtf!?!
I knew it was coming, he's been driving for 9 months and I'm just glad the kids are all okay and it was very minor.
The funny thing is that the kid driving the other car was uninsured and driving his girlfriend's car. So when I spoke with the parents they insisted it was my son's fault and that their daughter had been driving. They told me that if I didn't pay for the repairs they'd go through insurance and I said "I don't think we'll be able to agree on this, so that's fine."
They hung up promising to call their insurance company.

Ten minutes later...Mom calls back and apologizes, she says her daughter had admitted that the boyfriend was driving her car and didn't have insurance-can I text her an estimate and she'll pay for it.

An hour later...The boyfriend calls me crying, asking if he can "make payments," for the repairs.
I felt bad but thanked him for taking responsibility. I told him I had been in accidents as a kid too and it would all be fine.

Ugh, being a parent never gets easier, the challenges just change. You guys with babies and toddlers are soo lucky, enjoy it!

All clear. Now just gotta wait for these stitches to come out then I'm back on the bike!

Had to build another rear wheel. Suz broke a spoke on her CX bike 2 weeks ago. I replaced the spoke and attempted to true the wheel. That's when I discovered that all the nipples were frozen to the spoke. So I ordered up a Crest MK3, spokes and nipples. Spent the afternoon in the garage.

I feel your pain...

I bought a rear bumper for a Mercedes, and quite a few body parts for a really nice motorcycle... All in my oldest son's first year.

Thankfully #2 is a much better driver!

Relax alright, my old man is a television repairman... he has an ultimate set of tools!

I haven't ridden in a week due to these fires and the poor air quality. I have been second guessing my choice to stay off the bike this week because the air has looked super clear here most of the week. But yesterday, I discovered that my choice was a wise one when I found a new layer of soot covering everything outside.

I will likely ride on Sunday but I have to stay local since I am on daughter watch. I hope I remember how to do it.

During the strong wind event here and after the fires had started, I saw what I thought was a part of the Verdugos on fire again. But it was actually a HUGE soot/ash cloud.

Probably a wise choice to stay off the bike this week @SnakeCharmer. I rode to work Wednesday while sh!t was still smoldering around here. Rode directly past the old Indian dunes area which is basically now a creek bed with a bunch of cottonwood trees. The stink was pretty bad and I've had a pounding headache as a result for the past couple days. Wife says I'm an idiot and I deserve it. Today I was smarter and rode around tapia to get to work. Just a bunch of tumbleweeds and sand traps that way.
