Herz, there's a section on the left side of the pic where you could have dropped in, no problem. You brought your bike, right?

Yep. Mmhmm....It was too windy for me.
-The local bike shop called after rebuilding my dropper and said my frame is cracked at the headset. I'll find out how bad the crack is later today when I pick it up. I'm second owner so no warranty from Santa Cruz.

Ouch... Sorry to hear that. I understand the logic behind non-transferrable warranties. It still sucks, though...
I called and Santa Cruz is looking for a frame for me in their new warehouse. Their computer system showed that they had a black frame and will cost around $ 450.00 and or possibly a blemished frame for cheaper but they have to find it first- I saw my bike today and it has cracks on the very front of the frame around the headset collars just in 2 places top and bottom. They look like stress cracks that run about 1/4 inch. Not that bad to my eyes- They held back completing the remaining work I had authorized so I asked them to finish and I will pick up tomorrow. They offered me a Demo bike which I turned down for now. I still have yet to install that fancy DVO shock. Hardware showed up yesterday. Doh! What to do? New bike? Or keep running this one and keep a tube of epoxy in my back pocket. I'll be back on the trail Friday and will keep an eye on the cracks.True.....but sometime they will offer a crash replacement at a discount.
Ouch! That sucks. Best of luck for a remedy.-The local bike shop called after rebuilding my dropper and said my frame is cracked at the headset. I'll find out how bad the crack is later today when I pick it up. I'm second owner so no warranty from Santa Cruz.
Get rid of that frame. I don’t even want to think of the possible consequences of a head tube failure
Remember, any sudden failure of a front end part could yield horrible consequences.
It will be replaced with a new frame soon. Thanks-Ouch! That sucks. Best of luck for a remedy.

Trampolines are a blast and they make you laugh. Was supposed to ride this afternoon with @horsebikerider ...but then I got a call that my help was needed assembling my niece's Xmas present. So instead of riding I spent the afternoon building a trampoline....then testing it out.
How big was it and how hard was it to assemble? I delivered several of those over the past couple of weeks. Each one consisted of three big heavy boxes with a lot of parts! Was supposed to ride this afternoon with @horsebikerider ...but then I got a call that my help was needed assembling my niece's Xmas present. This one gesture almost makes up for years of shaky fathering!
Lisa is a genius!
I rode that ride it is pretty fun, also did the Vieux Carre, Actually I started by Esplanade. St Charles to Carrolton is great, good pavement, giant oaks keeps you in the shade most of the way.Saturday night, I rode the Streetcar up Canal to Carrolton to City Park and got lost. Eventually found my way back to the streetcar and back down to Canal and Chartres. At 11pm. With my wife and daughter. My streetcar should have been named Desire....or Stella.
I rode on a couple of 737s today and I am back in the OC.
