I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Huh.
I didn't ride my bike today either. Believe it or not it is Cathy and my wedding anniversary today. We played hookie from church and was going to go to Ojai to ride our bikes, however Mrs. Watson had a very sore neck (probably from Dr. Bob beating on her for letting me as stupid as I actually am). So we laid around the house. Watched a little *Firefly and I lifted weights in the late afternoon.

Yes... I do belong to one cult...
*Firefly is an American space western drama television series created by writer and director Joss Whedon, under his Mutant Enemy Productions label. Whedon served as an executive producer, along with Tim Minear. The series is set in the year 2517, after the arrival of humans in a new star system and follows the adventures of the renegade crew of Serenity, a "Firefly-class" spaceship. The ensemble cast portrays the nine characters who live on Serenity. Whedon pitched the show as "nine people looking into the blackness of space and seeing nine different things".
It made it one season and was cancelled. I found the "Firefly" series, after the movie "Serenity" came out in effort to re-stoke the TV series. Cathy and I own them all and cycle watching all of them to include the movie 3 to 4 times per year.

I was invited to Wofford Heights to ride my Moto. Sorry but 2 wheels is 2 wheels to me.

That was one of the shows that I binge watched last year for my elliptical workouts! They cancelled it too quickly... But I was surprised at the number of stars who went on to bigger and better shows. Good stuff, Mikie...

And took Daniela's bike to my bff nick @jensons for advice while I was fixing 2 flats on the tubes and bike was ready to ride tomorrow for sure !! She is buggin' that she wants to go to skyline again.... Well skyline it is... In all had to much to do today but with a smile and wifey feels better after some hot pads and some naproxen.

I'm still removing stubborn thorns from yesterday's run in with a cactus. It's like a game of Press Your Luck when I squeeze a bump, maybe I'll get a piece to stick out I can tweeze, maybe I'll painfully push it in further, maybe it's not a thorn and just a bloody scab I'm reopening...

Because I bought some running shoes and am going to start mixing up my workouts. Jennifer will be my coach but I don't plan on doing anything more then just running for fun. I actually had a blast today.

The hill in the background is White Face. We hiked to the top of that last weekend. Much better view under the sunny sky.

Running is what coaches use to punish misbehavior or bad performance.
I remember this all too well. I really had a distaste for running for that very reason. In the mid-90s I took up trail running and really got into it. I was the fittest I had been since basic training. At this point I am just hoping that a little cross training will help me lose a few unwanted pounds.

I haven't been on a bike...either bike...since Tuesday. And that hurt. I've been laid low by some mysterious bug. Around 2 in the afternoon, I'd get serious chills, run about 102 fever, and body aches. I was out by 9 pm at the latest. No energy at all.

Today I feel pretty good. Tomorrow I FLoop. Might even take the kid with me, if she can stand being seen with her old man.

I have a feeling this FLoop will hurt.

Feel better!

I'm in Seoul for a week. This trip killed my riding last weekend as I flew out on Sat, and for the upcoming weekend I have to start packing to move (just a local move) literally as soon as I land. I do not approve.

Ahhh. but these are self-induced lifestyle adjustments. You shall persevere! :sneaky:

Remember your China Legs from 3 weeks of not riding? Eventually it will be your turn to encourage me as I return from "stupid-slow-fall-injury-to-my-hand" legs - also self-induced. Just when I was developing 4000' legs.

Best of luck with your move!

Got to hang out w/ the middle school crowd today at Vail Lake. Sunny and 75F. Lots of wind and dust blowing in the afternoon. My 8th grader got the perfect front row start, but crashed pretty hard on lap one. Sent him clear to the back. He limped through the remaining race, and finished, but barely. A pretty big bruise on his chest, maybe from the bars? Lots of kids and families out there, and tomorrow will be huge with the high school kids!
