I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I didn't ride today because it is ugly.

If things keep improving at the pace they have been, I'm hoping to be able to do meaningful rides again by earlyish summer.

This is what a "severely" (actual wording on the MRI report) narrowed cervical nerve root looks like:

The two discs above and below are bulging and herniated respectively, but currently asymptomatic. The doc wants me to figure out a much more upright riding position (than road, which is/was the majority of my volume) like on a trainer or stay off the bikes for one to two years. Sounds like a prescription for more mountain biking.

First - that dark spot looks ominous. That's a bad thing. Fix that.
Second - Any prescription to stop road riding is a good prescription in my book!

Good luck with managing all this. I feel ya!

Popped the bladder in the damper in the Fox 38, it was making noise over the last week or so. Figured it was something serious so I dropped it off to have it serviced by Collin at BikeHouse. Luckily Fox shipped the part today, so I should be back on the trails early next week.
