HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!

The Tahoe games did not plan for sun. How stupid. I think it's karma for not including any California teams.
Bettman had a great statement, and he said it twice. " It's cloudy everywhere except where it is sunny"
My Ducks suck. GMBM can't admit it and publically toss the season as a rebuild. Keep claiming aiming for the playoffs.
This is the perfect season to rebuild, no fans in the seats to disappoint.
Today, he finally called up the superstar to come, Zegras. I think to save his job.
GMBM needs to go.

Here ya go @Redman

Rangers Improving

And in case there's a firewall - that's a link to an article in the OC Register today that covered the Rangers' 6-2 win over the Bruins and informed us that the "Rangers get their third win in four games."

Avs currently 4 pts clear of EVERYONE ELSE!!!! Holy moley - uncharted territory for the 2-time Stanley Cup winners. Too soon to be meaningful, but 64 pts is pretty damn good at this point in the season.

Let's see, other notable teams...

Kings - 38 pts
Ducks - 33 pts
Rangers - well, I promised not to point that out right now as they are in a building year. Better than any local teams though.

Of course, I know better than to gloat at any point in time. Who knows? Could be the last points the Avs get all year! After all, Grubauer is out with COVID for a couple of weeks.

The Avs are definitely in the zone...right now. Playoffs???? We'll see how that goes. Should be a breeze for them until they get out of the intradivisional play. Rangers vs Avs in the finals. Rangers win in 6 games!!!!!!!!:laugh:

Yea...not even for the foreign anthem. Of course the hottest team in the league prior to suspending the season still didn't make the playoffs, but at least we got the number 2 pick for next season.
How did that work out?
settle down big guy, it's only exhibition. save the horn tooting for Aug 1st and after
Sorry gents.

Colorado Avalanche win the President's Trophy for best record in the league this season. They just barely slipped by the mighty Kings in the last two games of the season with a combined score of 11-1 without two of their best players.

Of course, none of that matters now as the Avs need to win 16 games against equally hungry and talented teams to get that little prize at the end. Go Avs Go!!!

Ask me again in a couple of years when he grows up and hopefully doesn’t go to Buffalo for Jack. Also, the non playoff teams were playing their B-squads to get them exposure. Congratulations for beating the Ontario Reign by a combined score of 11-1.

Whatever it takes to make you feel better, bro!

The Avs had the easiest 1st round match-up by far....
So claiming they would get beat in five games was extremely insulting then... (I know you didn't claim it, but I love that you guys are bagging on the Avs for some reason.)
And doesn't the team with the best record in the NHL typically get the easiest first round?

Anything can happen, but I will stick with the fact that the Avs are pretty good this year. They now need 13 wins.

Now, now, settle down, I was just stating a fact and not bagging on the Avs. I don't follow them very closely but admittedly despise Kadri so like Tom Wilson, I hope he goes home sooner rather than later. The Avs were the most exciting team to watch in the Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, Forsberg era.

Avs swept the Blues. Total score 20-7. Now need 12 wins. Anything can happen. Let's see who's next on the docket.
Avs have had problems with the Knights and the Wild in the recent past. Reasonably sure it will be the Kuh..Niggets! (As the Frenchies said in Holy Grail).

I agree about the Forsberg, Sakic, Roy era. Great fun to watch. LOVE Peter Forsberg. :inlove:

And, the Caps are out. Boston was too much for them. Not what I wanted, but Boston is a WAY better team than the Caps. Not to mention Washington was playing with a handful of injured players. Mainly the great eight & Kusnetsov.
Winnipeg!!!!!! WTF? Showing the Oilers what's really going on. Came back from a 4-1 defecit in the 3rd period and won it in OT to take a 3-0 series lead! Go Jets!!!!!

Well the cautious part of my cautious optimism is proving to be warranted. AVs on the brink of elimination in round 2 at the hands of the Vegas Kuh Niggits! :(

AVs and Knights tied for best record in the NHL this year, but AVs got the President's trophy based on head-to-head or goals or something technical. I am hoping they find a way to come back in this series, but they aren't really familiar with being in this position. Commence the "told you so" comments and derision.

@herzalot I'm not a "told you so" kind of guy, so that wont be coming from me.

If McKinnon (sp?) shows up for the next game the Av's can win. Seems like he's been gone since after game two.

Game 6 will most definitely NOT disappoint. Looking forward to it.

But, how about the Tampa Bay Rangers! I mean Tamp Bay Lightning! Looking like they have a real good chance to repeat. Kucherov & Stamkos deserve another ring, it'd be cool to see.

Whoever wins the East will win the Cup...
Quite prophetic it seems. Lightning about to humiliate the West's representative - the Hapless Habs (Montreal Canadiens)...who were able to dispatch the Vegas Knights, who did in my beloved Avalanche. Barring some odd collapse, Tampa Bay gets to keep Lord Stanley's Cup, and put it next to the Vince Lombardi trophy for their Super Bowl win. Frankly, ice hockey should not be allowed if it never snows in the county where the team is based.

I've been meaning to ask, whatever happened to the Avs? Thought they were unbeatable. :sneaky:

I generally agree with that. Although I would like to see the league expand to Atlanta again. Quebec City needs a team!

You need to re-read my posts. I never said they were unbeatable and never claimed they would win the Stanley Cup. I was just thrilled that they had the best record in the NHL and hoped they could carry that through the playoffs. Nope.
