Jennifer is signed up for the 25. I'm trying to convince her to do the 50 since she can actually breathe now. I'm hoping to do the 75 in 6~hours. What bike did you decide on riding @Faust29? Anyone else doing the 75?
. . . if conditions are good....
We were around 4 last year for the 50, and we did a few minutes of extra credit near Oso Parkway. 6 is possible for the 75, if conditions are good...
I will most likely ride the Tin Lizard with gears.
Aye, that's the rub.
But will they be packed down in time?I hear from a reliable source that the FR's will be receiving the blade......soon.

I see you all running 27.5+/2.8 on your death march.
That means I have to start my training plan all over again!I see you all running 27.5+/2.8 on your death march.
You all?
Looks like the last few posts were wiped out. Where are the 75 milers meeting?
I'll start as early as early as the group wants. I just need an address. We are staying at the same place we stayed last time.We can meet wherever... I suggested the paved path behind Mission Hills Christian School at the end of Avenida Aventura (5 minute roll from the real start and the parking lot). 6:30... or even earlier if you guys want. Too early and we might miss an aid station, but that shouldn't be a problem. The first one we stopped at last year was in Caspers.

I'm hoping for a moderate pace. 10-11 mph? Last year I averaged 11.6 but it was only 50 miles. How fast y'all planning on riding this event?

Some guy I was riding with kept pushing the pace! I heard him back there yelling, "FASTER, FASTER!"
We were 4:00:00 last year, and we added about 5-10 minutes of extra credit... We did not stop much, though, and blew through most of the aid stations. So, even if we slow down to a 4:30-5:00 pace, that puts us done with the 50 mile version at 11:00-11:30. That would leave us with 3 hours to do the extra credit loop. My normal time on that loop is a little over 2 hours, so 3 should give us time...
The caveats will be the condition of the trails that are presently torn up. I know they started working on the Arroyo Trabuco Trail, so I'll be able to ride it before the event and give a summary. I would expect it to be a sandy slog with several water crossings even after it's cleaned up. The real unknown is Caspers... As far as I know, the Star Rise descent is still closed. East Ridge and the Oso descent are open, but I can't get to them with Star Rise closed... If they get it open soon, I'll check it out.
I hear that Bell View has been dozed.....
" Had been bull-dozed from Dove Canyon Waterfall to the 3rd gate so a bit sandy on top of hard pack"
27th.Not this weekend, right?
I need a big ride (or 2) this weekend...
