Who's Riding Where???

I was all geared up and ready to roll this morning, and then my plans were dashed…

Biggish loop tomorrow morning… Maybe the same one I did on Wednesday. Up the Toll Road and down the Gabrielino. Thanks to MWBA the Gabrielino is running nicely. Long stretches of people free riding, punctuated by the occasional crowded segment.

Earlyish start… 30/5000, with options to increase or decrease either number.

How early is earlyish? If I join for the Toll Road ascent you can, of course, feel free to drop me at any time.:Roflmao:Roflmao:thumbsup:

Inspired by my friends who hiked the full Tahoe Rim Trail...

The legally-ridable TRT is on either side of the lake – two big chunks. The east side from "Mount Rose Meadows" south to the terminus at the SOT is around 73/10k; the northwest side from Ward Canyon to Mount Rose Wilderness bdry at Mt Baldy is ~48/5700. Connecting around the south/west of the lake is a bunch of road and minor trail riding.

Some west-side dirt will be new to me. The finish trends mostly uphill, but it's after the resupply points in Meyers and Tahoe City. One or two bivouacs, using up the daylight plus bike lights is the plan. Not a full lap around the lake, just enough to get all the Rim Trail.

That there is about a weeks worth of riding for me......

Due to circumstances in life.... it was suggested I take a day tomorrow (Friday July 23) and spend hours on my bike. Now, I have to decide the game plan.. several options popping through the ol noggin.

First, escape the heat and head to higher elevation...
Laps at Skypark?
Big Bear - take the lift and do some skyline/top of the mountain fun, then a few green/blue laps to finish up the day?

Or.. the heat might be more bearable tomorrow down here... Strawberry? Super Strawberry at a not super pace?

Somewhere cooler by the ocean??

If all else fails.. I might just explore millard/owen Brown grave/echo ruins... maybe push it to inspiraiton point... but that would depend on the legs...

There are no bad options...

Sunset? Middle Merrill? Ken Burton? Ken Prieto? Leave early enough and you might be able to tack on one or two to the other routes you mentioned.
