Who's Riding Where???

I'd have to consult the wife, but it's probably doable... I was thinking the next version should be a Strawberry + The Front Range... If my memory serves me, that nets out to something like 27 miles and 4000 feet.
That works. I would have to pace it a bit more to attain 4,000', so any other slow climbers to help deter the hungry wildlife would be a welcome addition to this shindig.
Let Mrs. Fauste know she doesn't have to feed me after the ride, but that I wouldn't let the food go to waste if it suddenly appears on a plate in front of me.

What say the other night riders...? @mtnbikej , @Luis , @anyotherintrepidsoul

Yes, you have been hesitant to branch out! Josh, come to Tahoe and grab a day in Downieville area...might make you rethink it. I’ll show ya the goods.

Woohoo, crazy night ride!!!
Those are trips I intend to take. I am limiting my distance, and time off, temporarily. I am saving up a bunch of vacation time right now so I am minimizing any time off I take for some place new.

So... We're talking the night of the 26th (Saturday) into the morning of the 27th (Sunday)? Let's put it on the calendar tentatively... :inlove: I'll run it by the wife later.

This would be the route, except for the end probably. This had a Horse Trail finish. Finishing on El Prieto gives a full 4000. At night, we could even try dropping Lower Sam. I've never gone down it... Just a thought.

Night of the 26th (Saturday) into the morning of the 27th (Sunday) was my thought. Lower SM sounds fantastic, but we'd have to see what time we arrive at the ruins to determine if the sunrise marauders would be out already.

Got ya, makes sense.

Put it in your back pocket. I’ll be around the area outside of winter. I don’t know D-ville well, just visited twice. Have some fine off-menu stuff around Tahoe north shore to share, tho.

I am very interested in a Front range night ride. Are you guys going to throughout a Trailhead post or is this going to be a read between all the posts type of ride?

It depends... If the total enrollment stays at 4 including me, logistics are simple. I can handle the shuttle and there's no need for a return trip up the mountain, and no need to leave a vehicle up there at night. We're not at 4 yet...

If enrollment goes over 4, then we have to plan...

If we have to shuttle, I could always be the return car as I have no problem driving Hwy 2 home versus the 210 to 14. So that could be an option if needed. I could take the first leg driver up to Switzer on my way home and drop them off at their car.

If we're at 4, there is only one leg to drive... I have a live-in shuttle driver until August. And I ride right to home at the end...

Let's see how much interest there is...

Haven't heard from @Luis yet... He's probably still drying out from the last adventure. :p

The wife is convinced she needs a new dog, to replace the one that so inconsiderately croaked on her in March. And she seems to understand the tradeoff is I get to go on a ride safari.....

I have ideas swirling in my head. Cedar City (well, ABOVE that) and the Tushar mountains are calling.....

Friend of my kid has a German Shepherd they are trying to find a home for:

Let me know the date of the impending Front Range night ride. I'll go up the mountain earlier in the day and make some "adjustments" to the trails. :whistling::D
