Who's Riding Where???

I'm strangely intrigued by a potential San Gabes night ride with @DangerDirtyD . :eek:
George H. is interested in a late night romp Friday or Saturday. You met him with Dante on Strawberry (the red-head bearded dude who could pass as @redwoods twin). He climbs fast like you, so it would be a good fit if you were to join me for some midnight shenanigans. We'd have to convince George to try the Mt. Wilson fare (https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-118.09332847595216&lat=34.23607346398717#.YAh5luhKhaQ) at night, though, because he's in Rancho Cucamonga and prefers to stay local. Personally, I just want company to fend off the wildlife, so I'm open and hoping we can coordinate a threesome with a sunrise massage parlor breakfast. The alternative to Mt. Wilson would be Potato Mountain (https://forecast.weather.gov/MapCli...703369143&lat=34.186813861893455#.YAh3j-hKhaQ), where there would be more fire road DH than Wilson, but you'd still get 5,000' of gain with the right combination of blue and black diamond trails.

Still intrigued... But the weather is not looking so great. I’d also prefer something I’m familiar with, as I’m pretty much blind at night. :Roflmao

This reminds me of the proposals I get from my technical staff who specify what is not included in the scope of work and don’t really indicate what they plan to accomplish on the project. Let me know if/where/when you wanna ride, and I’ll let you know if I can make it; my availability is after 10 pm in La Verne or after 11pm anywhere else to account for drive time.

HE's doing a night FLoop with
@DangerDirtyD

This poor thread takes its usual plunge with the SoCal weather... :(

SWAZ got some thunderstorms, Sugarloaf/Laguna Mountains shrugs it off with low clay content. Sand and loose gravel firms up nicely. A window of weather and time seems to be coming my way. Parts are nearly all here. Hmm...

Riding slippery surfaces at Mt High tomorrow. Should be a Sh!t show.

I've thought about breaking out the snowboard and and going to AZ Snowbowl on Wednesday.

I haven't boarded at Mountain High since January 2008 on the same day those guys got killed in the avalanche(s). Crazy thing is, we were riding that same OB terrain all day. By far my best day ever on a "local" hill.

I remember that. Avalanche deaths at Mt. High is not something you expect.

AZ snow bowl. I did my first sanctioned GS and SL races there in 1979. A lot of fresh snow that weekend. I had no clue where I was going on the course and missed several gates.

have fun!
