I would love to do this ride, as it sounds like a great trail and I have never done it. I am not sure I should be riding chunk right now, so I am not sure the drive up would be worth walking around the fun stuff. At this point, I've zeroed in on Friday at Skyline if any or all of the three others can do it (@rossage @buggravy and/or @bvader).Exploration thursday, 8am. Not a tough climb. Loop is about 8 miles unless you add more up to Keller peak. Beautiful ST, enough chunk for the Megaplower, closer than BB, AND it's been a while since we rode. @Tom the Bomb is a maybe, @NinjaDon is planning on it.
Herzy, if you are unsure right now then don’t do it. I have only ridden it once and it takes once to at least catch the little tech surprises around corners. It’s a GREAT loop. Get some internal structural stability back then let’s go do it with Hooligans together!I would love to do this ride, as it sounds like a great trail and I have never done it. Hah - Rossage and Gravy... Sounds like a delicious breakfast.

It’s a great trail! I don’t think theres anything crazy on it that I can recall? What’d you ride at Aliso today?I would love to do this ride, as it sounds like a great trail and I have never done it. Exploration? Yes I've heard it's a great trail, but I will save it for when I am 100%.It’s a great trail! I don’t think theres anything crazy on it that I can recall? What’d you ride at Aliso today?
This is where Strava would have given you all kinds of fun data.Exploration? Yes I've heard it's a great trail, but I will save it for when I am 100%.
Standard fare in Aliso: Parked at Alicia Lot. Coyote-Cholla-Rock-It-Cholla-Lynx-Coyote-Mathis- Meadows.
Like whether I was faster or slower? I was slower. This is where Strava would have given you all kinds of fun data.
Seems like your minds made up but if you’re riding rock it and lynx you could handle exploration. If you were still sticking to fire roads or just meadows I would say skip it. Skyline will be fun I’m sure.Like whether I was faster or slower? I was slower.
Anybody can use a ruler as a stick.Like whether I was faster or slower? I was slower.
Thanks - I think the invite for Exploration was for tomorrow, and since I am doing Skyline on Friday, I can't do both days. I could hit Exploration on my way back from Skyline, but I'm thinking I'll be pretty gassed. I intend to do around 3000' of climbing at altitude. I am barely surviving 2400' right now at sea level. I'm giving myself time.Seems like your minds made up but if you’re riding rock it and lynx you could handle exploration. If you were still sticking to fire roads or just meadows I would say skip it. Looks like this is happening. Let's try the Aspen Glen picnic area at the bottom of Pineknot Trail. Meet at 9:00. Ride up the hill - up Plantation. Turn left or right. Or ultimately, both. Ride a bunch, come back down Pineknot or Cabin 89 whenever ready to call it a day.@herzalot is there a potential meeting time / place?
Yup - right across from the Oak Knoll Lodge. Meet at 9:00 am?@herzalot Not as familiar ..... Assuming this general area?

@Danimal, you can park along the road outside the lot without a pass.
So, how many Hooligans are going for the Skyline ride?
BOOOOOOO!!!!I have to bow out, fellas. What looked good this morning changed this afternoon, with a welcome but stressful development on the work front. Enjoy.
And then there were 4...
No rossage and gravy, this time.
BOOOOOOO!!!!
Sorry to miss you. Best wishes with adulting.
Full day? Have you ever ridden with me? You'd be home by noon! (well maybe 2pm).Haha, I know, that's eating me up almost as much as not getting to ride up there. Soon, er, again soon.
To borrow a phrase, FOMO. I'm going to do a dawn patrol Cheese run to get my head right (and check out some trail work that went down that I'm leery of), but a full day away would have been a dereliction of duties after a shake up today in what my next couple months will look like. Full on adulting. OC party next though.
Yeah sounds like a Korean War survival staple.......it also sounds like something they may have fed me at camp in the 60s.Pretty sure Rossage and Bug Gravy was on the menu at my dads survival school in the 50s
