Who's Riding Where???

Exploration thursday, 8am. Not a tough climb. Loop is about 8 miles unless you add more up to Keller peak. Beautiful ST, enough chunk for the Megaplower, closer than BB, AND it's been a while since we rode. @Tom the Bomb is a maybe, @NinjaDon is planning on it.
I would love to do this ride, as it sounds like a great trail and I have never done it. I am not sure I should be riding chunk right now, so I am not sure the drive up would be worth walking around the fun stuff. At this point, I've zeroed in on Friday at Skyline if any or all of the three others can do it (@rossage @buggravy and/or @bvader).

Hah - Rossage and Gravy... Sounds like a delicious breakfast. :whistling:

Herzy, if you are unsure right now then don’t do it. I have only ridden it once and it takes once to at least catch the little tech surprises around corners. It’s a GREAT loop. Get some internal structural stability back then let’s go do it with Hooligans together!

Sh!t!
Now I have to go.

I will confirm later today

Don't worry. I'm not looking for a Strava! ride. I just want to get up there and cruise around the mountains. Skyline, to me, is a flow trail where maximum speeds tend to work against you. Momentum is key, and saves a lot of energy.

Walking a section for any reason is ok by me. Just recognizing you're not 100% and should slow things down is the mark of a seasoned rider.

Fingers crossed...

The healing powers of the body continue to amaze! Like I need to remind half of you... My spine says I’m cleared for action. And it calls the shots!!!!

Tahoe Rimshot tomorrow. Nothing serious, just out-back from the car starting at Mount Rose. First time back to that area this year. XC heaven.

It’s a great trail! I don’t think theres anything crazy on it that I can recall? What’d you ride at Aliso today?

Seems like your minds made up but if you’re riding rock it and lynx you could handle exploration. If you were still sticking to fire roads or just meadows I would say skip it. Skyline will be fun I’m sure.
Thanks - I think the invite for Exploration was for tomorrow, and since I am doing Skyline on Friday, I can't do both days. I could hit Exploration on my way back from Skyline, but I'm thinking I'll be pretty gassed. I intend to do around 3000' of climbing at altitude. I am barely surviving 2400' right now at sea level. I'm giving myself time.

@herzalot is there a potential meeting time / place?
Looks like this is happening. Let's try the Aspen Glen picnic area at the bottom of Pineknot Trail. Meet at 9:00. Ride up the hill - up Plantation. Turn left or right. Or ultimately, both. Ride a bunch, come back down Pineknot or Cabin 89 whenever ready to call it a day.

Turn up Tulip Rd. to Mill Creek Road. I believe the Picnic Area is closed, but maybe the parking is not? Not sure if we need a USFS Adventure Pass, but not a bad idea to have one. We may need to just find nearby parking in a residential area.

@Danimal, you can park along the road outside the lot without a pass.

So, how many Hooligans are going for the Skyline ride?

Thanks for the info, I'll do that.
I believe there are going to be 5? including me. So social distancing shouldn't be a problem as I'm always near the back of the pack.
Since my gnarly respiratory illness in February my lungs just can't keep up with my legs and it's slowing me down.....kind of a pisser as I should be at my riding best by this time of year.

And then there were 4...

No rossage and gravy, this time.

Haha, I know, that's eating me up almost as much as not getting to ride up there. Soon, er, again soon.

BOOOOOOO!!!!

Sorry to miss you. Best wishes with adulting.

To borrow a phrase, FOMO. I'm going to do a dawn patrol Cheese run to get my head right (and check out some trail work that went down that I'm leery of), but a full day away would have been a dereliction of duties after a shake up today in what my next couple months will look like. Full on adulting. OC party next though.

Full day? Have you ever ridden with me? You'd be home by noon! (well maybe 2pm).
