Who's Riding Where???

Sadly, I have a shuttle driver. After decades of all sorts of abuse, my sweetie's knee is exhibiting signs of needing a good meniscus scoping. So we'll just take a nice drive together...

To the Tahoe Rim Trail, Big Meadow TH (down south on the 50). :sneaky: If I can get to Tahoe Meadows TH (Mount Rose) at the north side, that'll be ~70 miles of TRT. I tried once last year and got shut down at dusk when a rain squall rolled in and killed my attitude. Decent chance I can get it in the light this time of year. My last ride was not infused with Tailwinds, and I had gas in my tank after 11 hours. The hardtail/SS will work just fine; negligibly more difficult than my geared FS, as I've been discovering.

This ride, except no Tyrolean DH at the end:

Nice...

Why the 10 mile out and back at the beginning?

Edit: And I meant nice about the ride... not about the knee issues. That part doesn’t get a like...

Thanks, Steve. That knee has chicked me on too many hikes to count. Rides, too. It was incredible how fast one pint-sized hiker can move downhill. The price of it seems to be coming to bear... Common problem/fix, NBD, I'm guessing.

That 5-mi out/back section runs into the SOT. The logical (only?) way to ride it is out/back from 89/Luther Pass Rd (not 50 as I've said). I stash my pack and pick it up on the way back. It's a nice section that runs through Meiss Meadow and by Round Lake, some fast fun in both directions, minimal HAB.

Plan is Harding to Joplin, but is it wise to go it alone? I hear stories of the kitty cats...

Your fine.....don't worry about them.....
