I think I’ll ride the Chameleon instead.

I feel like I am more prepared this week than last.

Same here. I had waaay too much Easter candy last week. This week I held off. Gonna save it for after the race.

So, the last few times I've been up to the peak, I've regretted not having an extra layer for the downhill. You guys think it'll be an issue on Saturday? Or you think it'll be warm and dry enough to not need the extra layer?

Highs in the 80s... I’d bet it’s warm enough when we get up there.

I saw a vision once. near the top of Old Camp.. trying to keep up with Superman.. the day got hotter and hotter.. I said heck with this.. I'm gonna find me some shade. Sat down... saw visions of my grandma.. then Superman came back and said, end of Old Camp is around the corner.. "yeah right. I'm done." No really its around that corner... less than 100 feet away..
Of course on the way down, I took a spill...

So I haven't seen anything about facilities on the Warriors Society site....do they have port-a-potties on B* at the start? For those of us who may be traveling more than a few minutes to get there....

Or should we plan otherwise? Inquiring minds want to know.

Yes, we usually have some sh*tters at the start. Get there early, use them early, bring a light.

We don't have sh*tters at Aid Station 1.....but there is the one at the MS parking lot.

We don't have sh*tters at Aid Station 2....but there are 2 at the Holy Jim parking lot.

Otherwise there is 44 miles of natures sh*tters.

Once I get rolling I'm good to go...err, won't need to go.

Who's single speed heavier mine or yours?....... in the beginning I was led to believe that one of the attractions of SS bike is its lightweight.
My Carbon HT is 5 lbs lighter than my Steel SS.:gag:

So last Sunday I rode up to the peak to test my SSS compatibility with the hill.
On my way down I lost my rear brake. Apparently, I didn't tighten the hose enough when I installed them.
I was going to fix it and test on my "next ride" before realizing I'll be in Houston all week.
I got home late last night and tightened up the hose. I got up this morning and found about 20 minutes (before work) for a test ride my bike.
The hills of HB are notoriously tough on brakes, and I'm glad to report that the rear brake had no issue.

I'm somewhat confident that they will provide adequate results on the 4500 ft decent form the peak to the wash.

Climbing after the Berger? I don't remember that from last year......
Like I told my wife "in retrospect childbirth is not that hard".

You said that to your wife? And you lived? :p:eek:

New brake pads front and rear on the Chameleon... She'll stop now, but I'm honestly more worried about the engine and the climbs.

And I have no idea what she weighs now. It's irrelevant at this point. I'll weigh her on Sunday.
