rant

I am now of the opinion that Teslas are the new Subarus which were the new Priusus. It used to be if there was a slow-ass car holding up traffic on the two-lane road I drive to work, nine out of 10 times it would be a Subaru. Before that it was always a Prius crawling along and slowing ME down. Now it seems like Teslas are the go-to cars for the Slow AF Driving Club (SAFDC). Obviously confirmation bias is at play, but whenever I get behind a Tesla, I just sigh and resign myself to getting there slower than I want to. I get to drive behind them seeing that Dual Motor badge up close and personal... why don't they take advantage of all those horses they paid for???? Change my mind!

Prius's ... yep. They are trying to hypermile or whatever it is that Prius drivers do.

I have never actually been in a Tesla, but I have been behind a few that I suspect had autopilot on. They just tend to make odd movements that an actual driver would not make. Well, other than women of a certain race that people much younger than me would say is racist for me to say publicly. Allegedly. :Roflmao

The only question I can think of is how much faster than the speed limit are you trying to go?

I will be driving one of these badass Porsche (say "Porsch-Uh". You are welcome) 911 GT3's at Porsche Center Of Los Angeles on April 12th. Stoked.

I just hope I don't fall in love with it and cash out my 401K. :cautious:

When I see a Prius or Tesla, I always assume they drive like 90 MPH everywhere.

Mercedes drivers give zero fucks about anything or anyone.

BMW drivers are a mix of great drivers, or people who wish they bought a Supra and hate the world. Irony is, the Supra is a BMW.

Every Japanese sports (or sporty ish) car is a prop from one of the FATF movies.

Every Corvette within two generation old is being driven by someone on their way to pick up their Viagra.

V8 pony car drivers are Vin Diesel wannabes, probably say "Bro" a lot. V6 drivers think they have you fooled that they have a V8 by making it loud and driving full throttle everywhere (sorry "bro", we know what a V6 sounds like). Ecoboost drivers don't know anything about cars, they just thought it was a Supra.

I have more.
Being on the road ten or so hours a day, my observations exactly.

I actually don't drive that fast (IMHO). But I live for throwing it into the corners, and take off from stops with abandon. But the members of the SAFDC that really get me going are the ones that slow down for green lights... I mean come on, it's green and going to turn soon, get going! Step on the accelerator for just three seconds and you save yourself stopping at the light for two minutes and wasting all the energy (gas or electrons) to get back up to speed. They also slow down for every curve... OMG I'm going to slide off the roooooaaaaaad... Come on, this is the part of the day to go fast!!!!

I think a lot of Tesla owners must be former Prii owners, so they have the hypermiling mindset. Subie operators tend to be people that don't like cars/driving and are scared of getting stuck a SoCal blizzard.

Uhhhgh.

Either a GT3 Touring or a GTS would be more road friendly but that rear wing sure is cute.

I have owned cars with cute rear wings before. :Roflmao This was one of two Evolution VIII's I had back in the day. Carbon fiber spoiler that actually produced downforce at somewhere around 120 mph if I remember correctly.

Yikes, you must go through tires.

Tires are a wear item, and replacement is expected.

It's an inverse relationship, more fun, less miles per tire. And oh so worth it.......a little spin and there, oh hell, let's be honest, more than a little spin here and there.... :)

Best performance tires I've run so far are the Michelin Pilot sports. Ain't cheep, but as we all know you get what you pay for.

Pilot Sports are the Sh!t. My Evo's came stock with Yokohama Advans that were basically R comps. They also burned out @ about 6K on the street. Replaced them with Pilot Sports.

Not 100% sure but I think my S2000 came with Bridgestone RE050's which were no joke, and I think the stock tires on the Z were RE050's .... just bigger and wider than the ones on the S. The Bridgestones were just too expensive to justify. Currently rocking Sumitomo HTR ZIII's.

My third gen RX-7 came with the Bridgestones. Stuck like glue but wore like :poop:. Taking it out to Willow Springs didn't help much either. :whistling:

Well, today was supposed to be new Truck Day.......

but the dealer decided that at after 9 weeks of me waiting for my custom order to come in that they basically were going to charge me $15,000 over sticker.

Needless to say, today is not new Truck Day. Hopefully in less than 9 weeks truck #2 will show up for New Truck Day.

Yep, those 4S tires are the best. I have the All Seasons on the wagon, good compromise.

And they wonder why car dealers have a bad reputation and direct to consumer sales are taking off. POS dealer, I'd have walked and reported them too.

this sellers market won't last forever.

Deals don't exist but sticker and not a penny more is the only acceptable price these days. That's BS that they tried to gouge your eyes out. I'd go buy a Chevy or GMC if I were you :Roflmao.

Dealer #2 honored the Affiliate Pricing through Tread Lightly.....so 1% below invoice + any incentives at the time of delivery.

I'll add that this included no Market Adjustment or Dealer Add-ons.

Dude, I'm so jealous. This is the latest in a series of reminders to look into PECLA for myself.

Actually for the 992 the wing is the only difference between regular and Touring. Exact same suspension, steering, etc. I THINK the Touring is also manual only, while the regular GT3 is choice of manual or PDK.

I was stunned how fast these drives sold out at $1K plus. I almost missed out. I do hope to learn a thing or five from the driving instructor.

I just wish it was a stick. Although ... now I am wondering if I am going to left foot brake.

A friend of mine is doing the GT3 experience as well. He works for Branson and is talking Sh!t about rocking the Cayman GT4 , Taycan and GT3 991 vs. 992. F@ck him. LOL.
