I'll probably regret it in the heat tomorrow, but I'm in for my 3rd year of the 50. I jumped in just before the noon cutoff yesterday for the online registration. I'll be out there in a Path jersey on my Kona King Kahuna ... say hi if you see me out there ... I'll keep an eye out for the iMTB jerseys.

I'm thinking of doing an extra Live Oak/Vista loop during the ride to make it a legit 50 miles instead of the official 47 for the course. Last time my friend and I rode to the venue from his place in Dove Canyon to hit 50, but he's not riding this year. That loop looks like 3 miles on my Strava, and a whole lot more fun than circling the parking lot after the finish ... I can't stop 3 miles short of the 50 mile marko_O ... hopefully my legs agree and don't make me pay for the extra credit:).

I agree....this is kind of a pet peeve of mine. If you are going to market a ride as a 50 mile ride....it best be 50 miles.

True Grit was the same way. "Come out and do the 50 or 100 mile options".....turned out to be 44 or 88 miles. Same when it come to climbing. The Grizzly 100k in Big Bear is marketed as a 10k' of climbing....when I did it, I finished with 8200' on the Garmin and Strava rounded it up to 8800'. GRrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Veer off the pavement exiting O'Neill and three quick laps around the RSM lake for 3.3 miles.
:whistling:
