Redlands Strada Rossa - March 19, 2016

As of this morning, space is almost filled. We capped it at 250 riders over the three routes.
Currently only 12 spots remaining for 100 miler, 18 for 100K and 20 for 50K.
If you're thinking of hopping on board, best be quick about!

Guess I should register then.
If you want to be all official like, better get a move on! Last year there was a large swell in signup activity the week before, but I'm thinking we'll be closed by that point.

Groove Session just gave us a shout out on local radio (KVCR). They have a pretty big following, so hopefully will get a full party atmosphere going on post-ride!!!

Ok.....i'm officially in. This might hurt the weekend after True Grit 100.

@mtnbikej One of the best things about the route, and RSR in general, is that you can shorten it up to match how you're feeling. If it's just not happening on the 19th, there are bail options at 90, 59 and 34. Last year was the best for that, this is still pretty good, especially on the Imperial.

Here's the band. Have a jam-band vibe, great live performances. Playing till the cops shut us down! (we have a permit)

Sorry, if I go 90.....then I have to go 100.....no bailouts....I'm not allowed to.

Yeah, I hope nobody has to use that 90 mile bail out! But stuff happens...
It was more to show where some of the pinch points are in the route that provide some natural course changes. For me it's not so much the mileage (although tough!), but the time cutoffs. Making those would be stretch, especially on the miler.

Not sure if this has been asked. Will the routes be marked? Do you think its possible to make thru with just the cue sheets?
Good question! We make a big point of saying the route is unmarked, you have to be self-sufficient, yadda-yadda-yadda, but in the end we work pretty damn hard to get it marked. So a combination of marks, cue sheets, and a smart phone should get you through!

Nice meeting you out on the course David. Thanks for the directions thru the wash. Wildwood Canyon is gorgeous right now.

It was fun running into you... I saw the bike and immediately knew it was someone pre-riding!

That canyon is a keeper, especially now in the spring. There's a reason we schedule this when we do!!!

With the recent rain, do you think the skinny tires will still be the best option?
So far, the rain is only improving things! Most soil is DG and low clay. The sandy sections are going to be better for sure (lucky roadies!). There are a couple spots on Crafton (10 foot sections here and there on the north side) that might get muddy, as well as a few places elsewhere. IF it pours the week before, we'll have to re-route some, but just regular showers here and there, no problem at all.

Previous two years, the heat has been our biggest concern!!!
