Okay, come clean, whistle boy. :geek:
JRA started carrying Intense a few months ago and I asked Vince if he was going to get demos in as I wanted to demo a Sniper. He usually has his own demo bikes. Fast forward to last weekend's demo where Intense dropped off their whole demo fleet. Well in the midst of us picking up our gravel bikes Vince offered up the Sniper as Intense won't be picking them up until this weekend. How could I say no?

Joplin ate the Yeti... Look closely and you might find it.

I actually thought he was a goner for a second...

I gave Nicholas my Ripley and sold the old Kona so I’m jonesing for a down country bike now. As much as I love my Hightower it’s not worth the pedaling penalty for quite a few rides.
Interesting comment. I figured with the right setup, a Highpower would be a bike to pedal all day. Sounds like maybe you picked up that bug @SnakeCharmer has. :)

And... lucky Nick!!

Got her all adjusted, gripped, saddled and pedaled. 25.8lbs with pedals, 2.6 tires, and sealant. Having gotten accustomed to the Sram rear brake and shifter mounting system I’m not digging the way the Sram shifter and Shimano brake lever play together with positioning, but it’s a minor quibble for now.

Wicked and sick light! Looks like a trail killer. Also, like a great bikepacker. Stoked for ya!!

View attachment 61923 No-backpack ride today. Inspired by @UPSed and his testicle water conveyance system and @mike and his NUTS storage solution. Anyone who says a DH shuttle is cheating isn’t riding hard enough. Sack up...
Killer setup! You can relegate more stuff to the NUTS strap if you need addition space for important cargo* in your TT bag.

Thanks, Mike! I'm stoked as well. It's not the HT I thought I'd end up on, but as is typically the case, I think things shook out the way they were supposed to. Should be a trusty steed for the slow transition back to dirt, and beyond. It feels crazy light, but even so I was surprised by the actual weight. There are a couple builds on the Ibis FB group that are in full XC race mode, and they claim 21-22 lbs ready to ride, so I guess <26 as equipped makes sense.
