Music... I Listened to Some

@mike I really like this - and I am damn picky. Great sounding guitar and I agree - soulful vocals. Well done.
Thanks for the good words, Chris. You know that it's just a personal hobby in which I relish not having to be perfect.

The recording solo thing is new for me, but it's just a sketch book really. Being able to record the guitar and voice in separate tracks is nice because I can do either better without doing the other at the same time. And these are easy to mix with volume rather than having to play muted and/or sing louder. So I can do different things than if I was just playing a song. Like, duh...

I pulled out my 12-string today and was reminded how beautiful one sounds. Chimes like a bell with fresh strings. That inspired me to put down an excerpt of one of my favorite songs by the Buckpets, from their Mercurotones LP: Hey Sunshine.

How about an original? This song is probably three decades old, but I never tried recording it. I whacked it out in GarageBand today in a few hours with the cheap 6-string electric my jam bud Scotty gave me. The lead guitar at the end was a stone-cold sound check, but I said fuggit and left it in. No pitch correction or anything like that; 3 voice and 3 guitar tracks...while I wait for pay work to show up. Happy weekend!

Nothin'

It’s something, but it’s nothing
Nothing that you can say
Feel it wrap itself around, hear it rise with out a sound
Feel if it knock me to my knees today

It’s something, but it’s nothing
It’s nothing I want to live without
Waters rise the lights go out
The tide comes in and takes me out to
An incidental, transcendental grave

It’s nothing, but it’s something
Something you can’t say
Words will come and they will go
When they’re gone you’re gonna know
The darker sound of soul upon the gale

It’s something, but it’s nothing
It’s nothing I want to live without
Waters rise the lights go out
Tide comes in and takes me out to
An incidental, transcendental grave

I like it. I could actually see that turning into a Type O Negative song.

Not listening, but I geeked out on a Scott Ian encounter tonight. I pulled into the last non-valet spot at Katsu-ya, and as I was getting the kid out of the car he pulled up behind me and asked if I was coming or going. I told him I just pulled in. I hope he thought I was cool. Swoon.

I wouldn’t have been so cool about it. There’s always room for one more...and, you know that this is not an exit, right??????!!!!!!!!!

Straight up hard rock by a former GF's brother's band. Some of the best to come out of Phoenix.

No, it's not King Kobra's song, if you want pussification, check out Roadkill...fkking xboxers... :stop:

I just sent 2.5 coldies, cracked open GarageBand and pulled out my new acoustic love. Macbook Pro mic is impressive!

For @mtbMike. :) Sorry about the 457 mistakes and the tuning.

Blue on Black

Night
Falls and I'am alone
Skin
Yeah chilled me to the bone
You
Turned and you ran
Oh yea
Oh slipped
Right from my hand
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
As a dead man's touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Doesn't bring you back
Blue on black
Blind
Oh now I see
Truth
Lies and in between
Wrong
Can't be undone
Slipped
From the tip of your tongue
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
As a dead man's touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Doesn't bring you back
Blue on black

Damn, mike! Very Nice!

I’ve been itching to play bass again. Been almost 20 years
