Mt. Bike Celeb Sightings

Hey, I couldn't find a link to the courses.. j/k

Mt. Baldy's cool, but (here I go again), I like the more direct route up past the Sierra Club hut. Half the distance, more single track, big trees, occasionally bighorn sheep on the trail, same pay-off. Other notables down here are San Gorgonio and San Jacinto.

Tushars look beautiful. Are there reasonable bike packing options?

I’d like to do Baldy, but when it’s not too crowded! Bighorn sheep?? How cool! You guys should get off of the bikes sometimes and organize a hike or run maybe!?:whistling::D Or I could..but it would be SOT and that’s a drive for y’all

I'm seriously considering working up to this:

Park at the intersection of GMR/Sierra Madre Ave. Go up Glendora Mtn Rd. Continue on Glendora Ridge Rd. Refill water/TW at Mt Baldy Village. Up Mt Baldy Rd to San Antonio Falls Rd, hang a left and ride up to Top of the Notch. Lock the bikes to a railing somewhere and hike to Baldy Summit. Then retrace steps/ride.

About 58-60 miles and 10,000 feet of elevation gain. An all-day affair.

Soon.

Here's a picture of Brian Lopes. Now would you people please move your Tushar-SOT-GMR banter to some other thread and start talking about reflected greatness?

Holy smokes! That’s big! If you make it a group thing, plz send me an invite would ya? Not sure I’d do great, but it’s worth a shot!

Pffft. His pose is poor. :p
On the contrary - I think it puts @Mikie's bar humping Captain Morgan to shame!

And how often has @Mikie posed in the middle of a fundraiser event being the only person in the area with a bike and a riding kit? Fresh Off The Trail!
:eek:HEY! How did this turn into me humping Captain Morgan?!?!?
And yes, my bike pose smokes that droopy azz pose(er)!

What you REALLY should be asking.. “How many times has Mikie been sitting in the crowd on his bike all kitted out waiting for 2nd place to finish? Yeah beeeeotch!” :whistling::laugh:

It was a while ago, but during the last golden state series race at Bonelli I saw the clif team vans in the costco parking lot in San Dimas.....

I know multiple Olympic medalist (and from my home province of New Brunswick) Catherine Pendral was probably near by....

That's my closest encounter

New Brunswick. Never figured a maritime province would produce mountain bikers. You and Catherine Pendrel. I don't know any famous mountain bikers from Alberta and we have mountains. Can't count me because I haven't lived there for years;)
