My last shot at an organized ride has been canceled. All for the best I guess.

His e-bike was rated for over 60 mph. Goofball admitted he probably should have spent some time reading the manual before juicing the throttle 100%.

The article also said his next door neighbor was also into the hot e-bike scene. But I’d bet Jason Statham can handle the juice!
Idiot. The instant torque could definitely spit you off the back if you're not expecting it.

Yep and remember all the sweet talk by those who were backing e-bikes stating that they would never be allowed to break a certain, much lower, speed than this? This thing is basically an electric motorcycle and we are almost certainly going to be seeing these and others like it on our trails.:facepalm::rolleyes:o_O:bang:

Vehicles like this, which has 20 HP and goes 80 mph, have been around for at least 10 years (look up Stealth Fighter), and I've never seen one on the trails. Doubt we will now. They're an anomaly and legal on private property and (maybe) off road "Jeep" trails. Additionally, they're not even street legal. IMO, the pedals make them more dangerous than pegs and provide a humorous touch to a useless piece of you know what.

This is Hollywoodland. Southern California is made of money. I actually expect to see several out on the trails. That amount of money is chump change to a celebrity.
Can't wait to hear about the encounter; probably someone with a "star"on Hollywood Blvd. Two chances, slim and none and you know who left the building. The major OEM's (Haibike, Specialized, Trek, Giant, etc), that started manufacturing "e" long after uber-powerful DIY bikes were available, have continued to produce PAS, Class 1 or 3 (no throttle) since their inception, and exhibit no indication of straying from that concept.

The truth is, no e-bike is cheap. They cost more than a comparable mountain bike.
