Come on, gimme some cred for reforming my cairn-kicking ways. :gotnothing:

Cairns were a valuable navigation asset when I used to do a lot of backpacking in the high Sierra. Many areas hiked were rock and unable to have a worn trail, so map skills and small cairns were necessary.
Knocking them over could prove detrimental given the situation.

Yeah, I only knock them over or reduce the size if they appear to be a hazard.

When I encounter dozens of cairns and I need to go out of my way to avoid them, I don't.
Navigational or historical cairns can live.

I'm on board with that 100%.

Also, to Ross's point, well-meant but ill-placed and unnecessary ones make themselves a target for cairn kickers.

I'm thankful for the 30 or 40 cairns on Motorway... All on the same turn. Never know when I might get lost on that trail with no intersections.

And the little scrub trail next to the paved bike path in RSM definitely needs the 20 or so that pop up there. I mean, seriously... That trail sometimes gets over 100 feet from the paved path that runs parallel. Scary times in the wilderness.

I may or may not have knocked over a few of the above mentioned cairns... All were accidental tumblings. :whistling:

Pure evil! Hehe. :sneaky:

I think I was ruined by that one dufus-built cairn so close to the trail that I accidentally knocked it over before I even saw it and one of the rocks landed on my foot. An affront to thoughtful cairn builders everywhere!

It's been about 8 weeks since I had a haircut and I was looking and feeling like shaggy dog. Fleabay clippers finally showed up so I put the wife to work. She was nervous AF but did pretty dang good for her first try. Nicks turn is tomorrow and my drunk ass might just do it...

I've never had a beer in a barber shop...

Looks fine to me and I'll have more money for bike parts now...

I think she did a great job! Drunk customers are the worse! :coffee:

:eek::mad::D

Hooligan:

1) a tough and aggressive or violent youth
2) a rough lawless young person
3) a violent young troublemaker, typically one of a gang

and..

4) a cruel and brutal fellow bully, roughneck, rowdy, ruffian, yob, yobbo, tough aggressor, assailant, assaulter, attacker,...
If this is a quiz, I pick "all of the above".
I had no idea that @Mikie felt so warmly about us "Hooligans". :speechless:o_O:facepalm::bang::inlove:

How did this get started and, how did I get looped into this chit?!?!? o_O

Did some recon today: Parking on Blackstar Road now open. Maple Springs Visitor Center parking spaces still roped off but parking available on both sides of the gate, some of the no parking signs on the dirt shoulder where people like to park have been removed. Some but not all of the parking spots at the Harding nature center are now open.
