I used tubeless on my Defy, with Mavic wheels. Works great until you actually get a puncture; I got one and the tire sealed up great but was down to about 40 psi. I pumped it up to 90 psi and went to lunch. When I came back it had pissed the sealant out all over the office carpet.

I don't think any sealant can handle the pressure required on a road tire. It may get you home but you wouldn't want to hit any bumps.

I don't see road bikes with 23-25mm tires anymore. They got 28s or bigger on them. Perhaps that is so they can set them up tubeless and run them at a safer, lower pressure.

I have 28s on my Roubaix with tubes. Never had any interest in trying road tubeless. That being said I will eventually put 35s on my Lauf. Those I will set up tubeless.

I have 25s on my Roubaix, and its about time for new tires. 25s or 28s is the decision. IIRC It came with 32s but don't want to go there again.

First of all, I found a drowned tick in my shower stall this morning under the shampoo bottle. I wonder how long that lil bugger was crawling around on me.

Second, while I generally do not like the damage motos can cause to ST trails, I am actually pleased with what they have created up on the mesa near Yucca Valley. A straight and narrow trail that goes on for about 3-4 miles. It's hidden in plain sight where it parallels one of the more remote but often used dirt roads up there. As long as they keep rolling on it to keep it from becoming lost and overgrown, I will be able to get a nice 7+ mile XC ride from the house up there. :)

A climbing team made the terrible decision to ascend Snow Creek route (San Jacinto north side) during the heat wave. They got stuck up high after they said their pack(s) were swept down by an avalanche. They got plucked by a SAR helo.

Here's the route that day...

The normal route ascends the snow in the gully that is, er, moving.

Having you guys been smelling the stink in the air?

I started smelling it a week or so ago, only when the breeze was blowing in from South or Southwest. Smelled like rotting trash, sort of like a landfill but with not as much methane in the stink.

Then, a few days ago, while watching the news, they reported that lots of people were smelling it so they went to the AQMD which discovered that the stink is coming from a die of red-tide dinoflagellates. YUCK!
