How much should I price this thing for on Craigslist?

That sucks ass. First Bean moves to England now this. So now what - Ally and Jensen? Ally is hilarious and smart, but I can take or leave Jensen. The new-ish alt station (98.7) is far more juvenille and harder to listen to.

I might have to start listening to books or something on my commute now.

Wait - I don't have a commute anymore. WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!!!!

They weren't great. Kevin and Bean with Ally was a reasonable substitute for Kevin and Bean with Ralph - the best combo. I didn't realize how much Mr. Baxter added until he was gone. Let's see where it goes. I hope to hear Ally again somewhere.
Good luck to them all – I'm sure they'll find a place.

Alternative/rock stations have been a source of musical inspiration for me forever, but the morning "shows" always seemed unlistenably inane. My dad was a DJ, so the whole MC schtick didn't wow us much. Radio is a cruel industry, as Kevin inferred in his sign-off. My dad and his on-air buds were replaced by automated programming from a corporate office.

I had a few friends that were into KROQ and I think everybody had their stickers.

I was a late mistake child so was almost 11 years younger than my brother. Consequently, he drove me around to Little league and football practices when I was growing up and since he was a big fan on the "oldies" in the mid-70's, I grew up listening to K-Earth 101 when they played nothing but American Graffiti era stuff. I think a couple of the DJ's might still be there and that music has always stuck with me. I still listen to it nowadays, usually via youtube since K-Earth is playing 90's music now.

As I've mentioned before, since I was listening to the 50's & early 60's stuff in the 70's, I missed all of the Led Zeppelin, Doors, Cream, Ozzy and related music and still don't like 95% of it to this day.

Shout out for SirusXM: If you don't have it, it's an amazing to listen to the great music they have. I particularly like the curated shows by Tom Morello, Marky Ramone, Billy Idol, Little Steven, etc. I still need to check out Rodney Bingenheimer's show. But hearing Richard Blade daily is wonderful. That guy is the happiest guy in the world. Stern can be fantastic, especially for interviews and live performances. 24/7 Pearl Jam channel is my fallback. I do wish the different channels would play more Joe Benson Seventh Day style full albums. That's the one thing I can't find and hearing just singles on any format can get old. But full Pearl Jam, Grateful Dead, Phish, and Bruuuuuuuce concerts every day are pretty amazing.

I don't own stock or anything, just a satisfied listener. Treat yo self!

I love my XM, I have had it since 2006. I hate they made the Faction channel online only. Loved listening to Jason Ellis, and of course the music. I also love Richard Blade, he does have to be the happiest guy around. But look at his life, I can't see anything to be unhappy about, other than all the cancelled shows he had access to.

I have a few go-to Sirius/XM channels, but my fave is Canadian Alt Rock - The Verge (173). I like Alt Nation too - except when Madison talks. I can't stand her for a second. The most irritating radio personality this side of the yelling carnival barkers of AM channel morning shows. I agree about Richard Blade - but he has to be the most famous name dropper of all time. He mentions that he's friends with virtually every 80s icon and reminisces about the times he spent with them. I have no doubt it's true, but just because I've talked to Aaron Gwin's mom on a couple of occasions doesn't make me a mt bike celebrity. Or does it?

KROQ makes me feel old...Richard Blade on XM makes me feel older.

Its kind of hard to relate to 80s Alt-rock songs at this stage of life. I’m finding myself tuning in to Bluegrass Junction during XM free trials.

I have a soft-spot for Radio Madison, and can overlook her faults. She and her daughter were co-DJs on the kid's channel when I was driving a half hour each way to day care. She's good.

Also love Elizabeth Cook who has the Apron Strings show on Outlaw Country 60.

I lurv some Bluegrass Junction. It sits adjacent to Liquid Metal in my presets, and they comprise the bulk of my XM listening. "Hand Picked" with Del McCoury is the best. I could listen to him do the set up to each song, with all his anecdotes, forever. It almost borders on incessant rambling, but is so steeped in dyed in the wool knowledge that it comes off more like a conversation between friends on a bench outside the barber shop.
