I’m not as anti ebike as lost on here but I can’t imagine how ANYBODY could design and/or approve a bike that looks so hideous.

The rest of the industry is moving towards streamlining, and making the motor harder to spot. It's like the Ibis designers said, "We have to be different, so let's make the motor area a giant blob of motor and moving parts. Nobody else is doing that!"

That rear triangle/swing arm thing reminds me of another ugly bike from not too long ago.

So I assume your ebike is better looking than that one!

Looks like we are down to Guerilla Gravity and Revel. And Banshee. Don't forget Banshee! And Knolly. Knot yet anyway...

I read an interview with one of the main guys from GG a couple months ago, and the e-bike question came up. He said something to the effect of them being completely open to producing an e-bike, and they're down with anything that makes mountain biking more fun. I took that to mean they're actively developing an ebike that they can't bring to market quickly enough.

I learned a new word yesterday on the ride with @redwoods ... "Slacklining."

From a tree at Eaton Saddle to a tree on Mount Markham.

I’ve seen that off Taft Point in Yosemite. The guy told me they use a drone to fly one end of a much smaller thin line across and then pull the slackline up. Crazy to watch as these guys had 1200 feet below them.

Except the flaw of that argument is ebiking is not mountain biking, it’s mopeding.

Student debt relief portal is open and running as a beta version...

Go get your Biden Bucks!
But I already paid off my student loans by being fiscally and socially responsible. I could have spent that money on bicycles and fancy cars and a bigger house, but alas, I did too well for myself, so now my taxes can pay not only for CalPERS and some of your Southwest MTB adventures, but also for students who can suddenly afford to buy nicer bikes than mine. Oh well.
