So it is only a matter of time that people will say why are you still powering that POS? I have Li-ion powered energy so move over road hog.

Half the reason why I ride mountain bikes is for the health benefits. Though there are many variables, you certainly burn fewer calories riding an e-bike - and the number I have normally seen is somewhere around 40% as much, which makes sense given how you can take someone who can barely ride a trail, put them on an e-bike, and suddenly they become more than twice the biker :)

However I usually ride two-three hours at a time. The idea of getting an e-bike and having to ride four-six hours to burn the same cals is more than a little off-putting. And trails that I normally ride once I would have to loop a couple of times.

But I understand that there are some people for whom an e-bike means the difference between riding and not riding at all. I have a new biking buddy who rides an e-bike and can now comfortably stay up with me. Perhaps an e-bike will be in my future... but I don't see that future yet.

Big news: King tide Dec 4 - 5 which really means minus tide Dec 4-5: This is when I go down to surfing spots and look in the rocks and tide pools. I can already read the headlines "sea level rise" which of course it does twice or more a day. BTW: what is sea level? always moving and always oscillating over 12 hours, 28 days, 365.

I finally got the warranty replacement for my front triangle. I dropped my bike off on Sunday so they could transfer the parts over to the new triangle and it's already ready to be picked up. It's a matte black with white lettering. Niner uses this color combo for crash replacements so you won't find it anywhere online. I plan on putting it up for sale soon. I'm not going to give it away but if anyone here is interested in it, let me know. I'll definitely give you a good deal.

Well in other news Nick screwed up the Mac N Cheese tonight. Mom's out of town so I was in charge of ribs(they were just ok) and Nick was in charge of the Kraft. I mean he's 15 and he should have mac n cheese perfected but instead of 1/2 cup of milk he poured in 1-1/2 cups. He won't live this one down for a while...:Roflmao

last time the atmospheric river came in it rained for 4 hours, but only 1 hour of good old fashioned rain

It's come down enough that I said "screw it..." and went to Home Depot at 6:00 this morning for a water pump. No more pond buckets for me! :D

At 2:30 this morning, the water was still several inches from the top. At 5:30, I thought it was coming through the back doors... Not exactly the 24 inches or so I saw in the middle of a hurricane, but it's still best kept outdoors...

The little yellow blob is my new favorite tool... :inlove:

I failed to jet out my patio drains (3) that the rats and gophers use for their pleasure all year. The pipes may be separated somewhere underground or I need to put screens over the outfall opening down the hill. Got my own pond going on, just need some beaver to move in and I'm all set. Had a break in the rain about 8:30 and spent a lovely 25 minutes jamming a hose opened to full blast down these things until all the peanut shells, feces pellets, pea gravel and mud broke loose. Good times in the hills. Friggin' coyotes are slacking off.

There is two hills one has a house on it, the house is of questionable character. I see four men; one entering the house one in the house one walking downhill from the house and one on the other hill. Can you name their nationality?
