Seriously though it’s a love/hate. I’m a guy and can’t not be competitive but I truly like the social aspect. Also love to study and find new places to ride. Gotta admit though there’s this girl that goes by @mountaingirl sara that has been smoking me on my own trailso_O...
ACTUALLY... If one were to look at the “STRAVA” for Golden Eagle, she smokes most of imtbtrails... Just sayin...:whistling:

I have the home team advantage...on Tapia you all nearly killed me

I’m only on here because @Mikie threatened me with bodily harm :speechless:
Many moons ago @Mikie poached a Tapia ride I organized with OTBmbc and he said “Hey you guys should check out my site and maybe join”
Well, since then I’ve met and have had the pleasure to ride with some great peeps. I’ve ridden trails that I didn’t know existed. I’ve done my longest ride (Bikerpelli) with @Mikie and @Voodoo Tom and met more biking buds on that event. I remember thinking to myself, 150 miles in three days? What the heck did I just sign up for? And Mikie telling me “dude you got this” and by golly he was right :geek:
So for me it’s the social aspect of this site that keeps me coming back.
I’m one that likes organizing and leading rides. I like to think that I’m accommodating to all rider skill levels

No sir. Retired law enforcement which means I have plenty of free time to ride. I do ride with a couple teachers though. They'll be on the Whistler trip.
My older brother is retired law enforcement as well; twice! 25 years at San Jose PD, 10 years at Clayton PD (little town on the Sacramento Delta) and for the third and final retirement, Contra Costa County Sheriff's Dept! He's been cruising the Delta in a huge patrol boat busting drunk boaters for them the last 10 years. He's retiring for good in October when he turns 70! Thanks for your crime fighting service and enjoy that well-deserved free time!

70 eh? That's crazy. I checked out the 1st day I was eligible after 29 years with San Diego PD...and 2 in Newport Beach as a civilian community service officer. I actually was still happy at work but live in Oceanside and was driving 45 miles each way to get to work. Traffic was killing me and I hate it more than anything so I pulled the plug.

Yeah it is! He loves the job (most of those boats have bikini-clad occupants but he likes the law stuff too:rolleyes:) and he's in denial about getting old! Won't take any senior discounts o_O and hates any fuss on his birthdays! He's an Army Vet and cancer survivor so I guess he's entitled. Me, I'm 60 and I'll take any discount I can get:thumbsup:! More bucks for trips and bike stuff!

Quite the opposite.... I feel like a fast mo-fo until I look at strava... Seeing the top half of the leader board smash descents at twice the speed, let me get my knife to slice some humble pie
.
Just do like some people on here...use the filters until you get the results you want! :)
.
I like to see results for the day or week or month. The conditions are more like what you actually rode under.
Doesn't do my ego any good to compare my times to Hero Dirt times!

I like to compare all time. Conditions may have been better, they may have been worse..,:it’s just one of the variables. With the trails as blown out as they are now, getting better times than when the dirt/Trail was good is a bonus.

I can filter down to the clubs I’m a part of...and that’s cool.....but I like seeing how I stack up against the locals.
