Divide your elevation by your miles
Just lurking, but wouldn't it be better to know your feet climbed per mile, as in elevation gained divided by 50% miles ridden? Or the inverse, if you're more into logging your descents?

And what about recovery rides..do you simply not record them or put them in a separate file? Seems like they'd skew the good numbers and take down your average mph, etc.

Just curious.. not hating!!!

That is why it is just an average of all rides. Yeah, my Thursday Blackstar Socials drag down the overall numbers. Also why I don't like to do flat rides.

I'm sure the Velo Viewer that @MattB posted in this thread probably has the ascent only numbers. I'm good with elevation per mile.

Seems like riders on a structured program get no joy. My old road riding schedule had me doing two super easy recovery rides a week, then a short ride with sprints, a day of intervals, etc. My numbers would suck compared to riders just doing distance or climbing all the time, but my fitness was definitely improving in all aspects. Guess I'd keep it private. :(

kioti out.

I'm at 142 feet/mile for the year, which is up from @130 the year before, and @120 the year before that... I record all of my rides, even though some drop my average. It all works out in the end. I even record my ride home from taco plaza which is 6/10 of a mile, and loses 40 feet...

I ride a lot more in the mountains now, which accounts for the elevation increase and balances out the flat rides. My recovery spin today was a whopping 79 feet per mile.

Ha!! I have you all beat. I'm at 74 ft/mile, and dropping!!
its that awesome commute you do! San Gabriel river bed to Long Beach trail to Downtown! All on dedicated lanes except for the bridge crossings and Belmont shore!! I really miss that commute ride! Morning and night! Made me hungry and fit for Mtbking!

Hey Runs,
when you do CC ride on your own let me know. We can make it official IMBT CC. I was about to register when I realized 4/7 date is bad for me.. I still have to finish CC... last year my derailleur hanger snapped off at top of Mariposa on Blackstar and then I had to do the walk of shame thru the mud...

C'Mon guy and gals...

So were gonna have a Strava club and then use 1 metric to rule them all! Perhaps it should be named the IMTB FT/Mi club.

How about some of our awesome descenders like @shawndoh , @MattB Chad etc , those guys a SS were awesome a week ago.

Or our adventure riders like @schillingsworth

Or your own "Hot Lap" time

The FLoop Army..

Folks post your Strava rides use your own metrics what's important to you ... or not.

I like to see what others are doing

Hell no! They're all faster than me going downhill! :p

And for the record, @shawndoh has me beat in most of my local climbs.

Gotta tell us which trails can't tell by desc.

Put the links to the segments

One of Mine..

https://www.strava.com/segments/2681385 — Motorway DH Helipad to 1st Gate

16th out of 33 IMTBers on that segment... I'll take that for a single speed running Racing Ralphs. Of course, I've probably ridden Motorway as much as anyone since it reopened. I should be faster...

Oh, Man! I want to include the climb. I move up 2 places. :D
