imtbtrails Ohhh-fficial 2016 Spring Weight Loss Challenge!

OK...I'll admit it...I have failed. Utterly and completely failed to lose any weight over the past couple of months. Work travel, an injury, yada, yada, yada....

The good news is that it's never too late to not fail at this. I hate trying to lose weight in the summer with vacations and the like, but here it is: 215 by July 22. There. I said it, now I've got to do it.

Okay now! I now have an official goal! One of my customers owns Hyperion Fitness in Wood Ranch and I have been discussing my weight loss with him. He says I could get down to 195. My goal is 205 but if I'm still carrying a jelly roll I'm going for 195. 10 or 20 to go!

I hover around the 220 mark. I have been riding more often this month so I have gotten faster, but all this exercise makes me hungry...so I eat to my belly's content. Life is too short to eat like a wrabbit. Gimmie a bone-in rib-eye and some pasta; hence, my 4 hour 15-mile bike rides.

I hear what you are saying DDD. With my job and the amount of riding I do on the weekends you would think there's no way I could be 30 pounds overweight. At one point I just got tired of looking at my belly and decided to change my eating habits just a little. Believe it or not I still eat pretty good just not as much for dinner.

When @Mikie started this thread 5 months ago I had no intentions of going on a serious diet. I had dropped to 225 for my wedding but put about 5 back on during the honeymoon. Not sure what made me decide to start losing weight, (maybe my stomach bouncing off of the top tube on my road bike had something to do with it?), but glad I did. I decided to take up running to bump start my metabolism. It became much easier once I started seeing results. At one point a buddy of mine, who owns Hyperion Fitness asked me what my goal was. I told him 205. He tells me he wants to see 195. I said let me get to 205 first. I hit 205 and thought to myself I could stand to lose a little more. Well I hit 195 and now my new goal is 185. I actually had to order new uniforms because my XXL look like brown tents on me. Here's a couple of pics. The first is me wearing a new shirt with a couple of my managers and Congressman Steve Knight. The second was taken yesterday with one of my old shirts.

You don't even look like the same guy from the older pictures I've seen! Wow... Time to ditch the XXL, the XL, and probably the L pretty soon. You're moving to the mediums!

Haven't posted in here yet, but always inspired by you all so I'll stop hiding. I changed my diet at Easter, became pescetarian Was 240lbs, so I shall begin contributing with the official submission form... (surprised it isn't manditory @Mikie )

I was doing quarterly reviews with employees. 3 people commented on my weight loss. At first I thought they were buttering me up. By the 3rd person I was checking myself out in the mirror with my shirt pulled up.

Congrats, but two comments here...

One - you looked absolutely thrilled to be posing with those dignitaries. Your thought bubble might read "Get me the f*** out of here!"

Two - Nice Porsche. They must have bumped your pay as you lost weight! Will you put a roof rack or a hitch rack on it to haul your bikes?

Good job Ed!

Finally squeaked under 190! That's a total of 47 pounds lost! More than the weight of both my MTB and road bike! Not really trying to lose much more. Just want to firm up what I have. Not sure if it was this thread that helped me get motivated but I'm glad it's here.
