Heck yeah brother good work. I think I could be in trouble come Koko time...

4/6/16: 170.8 lbs
Goal: 168 lbs.

Breakfast: Plain ol' shredded wheat with a handful of blueberries, unsweetened almond milk, coffee. 16.4 mile ride to work. Pretty leisurely so I don't sweat too much, 406 calories burned.
Lunch: Rice & white meat chicken, with jalapeños. And 24 oz water.
20.9 mile ride home. Pushed it harder, 652 calories burned.
Dinner: Penne & turkey sausage with bell pepper, onion & mushrooms, sautee in olive oil. Small bowl. 1 beer.

It's a slow but steady trend in the right direction.

Me today:
Breakfast: nothing. not even coffee
Lunch: General anesthesia
Dinner: Turkey and cheese sub sandwich made by loving wife. A serving of Edamame. Three Girl Scout cookies - mint.

I think this is a winning diet for losing weight, but I will try not to repeat it... EVER!

Congrats Mikie, you are doing awesome!

@StrandLeper
Thanks buddy! I just got my azz kicked by my Chiropractor Dr. Bob.
He said my heart rate is way too low and that I have lost way too much muscle, to include my heart. He kicked me off my bike until my HR is back up to 110 and I intake way more protein.
I figured you were about to say something about the Paleo being better for me. Which I agree. Read the stuff you sent me and got a Athletes Performance Paleo Cookbook. Down in Bakersfield food shopping now. I'm just not getting enough Carbs and Protein.

I've mentioned my weight loss 100 times, but I usually skip the part about losing way too much muscle mass... It was great to go from 300 to 190, but I could barely open a soda can when I bottomed out. :whistling: At that point, I incorporated a little strength training to go with all the cardio, and I make sure that the protein intake is always pretty high versus the carbs and fats.

Breakfast is light today...There are usually a couple eggs in that spot.

That doesn't include your 25 cups of coffee does it?

4/13/16
Target weight 168 lbs
Weight this morning after my usual breakfast of 1.25 cups plain shredded wheat with a handful of blueberries, topped with unsweetened almond milk, and coffee....drum roll please...

168.6

Close enough. Water variations alone can account for over a pound of difference during the course of the day.

What did it for me was what did it for me before. Started running again. Cycling alone just won't get me there.

Stay with it brother!

When I initially saw this thread I thought to myself this is posted every year. But what do I do? Nothing of course. I love food. But after one too many rides of me feeling like my belly was bouncing off my thighs as I pedaled I figured it was time to lose some weight. Not sure exactly when I started but I know I was 237 at the beginning of the year. This morning after my morning :poop: I stepped on the scale and I was 220. I lost 10 pounds just over the last month when I really started cracking down. No more second helping at dinner and I cut out some carbs during the day. Other than that my diet has been the same. My goal is 205 by the end of the summer and I'm confident I can do it. If it matters I am an XL frame and anything less than 200 pounds I look anorexic.

Awesome Bud! ...And thanks for reviving this thread.

Although i have not been posting I have still been working it hard.
I just got off the scale a few minutes ago and I weighed in at 195.5!
By adding more protein like I should in the beginning it has increased my fat loss, lifting weights has continued to increase my body just burning fat, and riding with Voodoo Tom is either going to continue to burn mega calories or I'm going to die...:cautious:

Great job Ed!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
