[QUOTE="Faust29, post: 195708, member: 274"I've been running a harder gear on the single speed for the last few rides. At social pace, it's pretty manageable. It's even kinda fun to push harder than normal.
Nice one, team!Yup, yesterday rode Exploration trail in running springs with @knucklebuster and @Tom the Bomb . Started with the camp6 climb skirting slide peak, which goes through a young sequoia grove. Then first run down, they showed me a cool rock roll to the left side of the trail I never knew was there. Then two more downhill laps, using car shuttles. On The 2d time on that rock roll, I forgot to lower my dropper barely rode it out. Finally cleaned that one left-hand switchback. Weather was great (seemed not quite as cool as predicted though) trail was dry and loose. Great day on the bike with a couple of cool dudes who impress with with their riding strength and skill.

Hey, I know that place. Glad you got out there. I’ll consider myself lucky that there were no bugs last week.Yesterday actually... No school in L.A..
If you go here, take a bug net. Swarms.
On a side note, my fitness is no where near what's required to do this loop in a timely manner....

Just how do we know that you really burned 1326 caloriesDropped my truck at the shop for brake work and then pedaled from over to Cherry Canyon to do a Big ChLoop. Luckily, not much smoke at all around my area but I can see it in the not too far off distance.
15.97 miles
2477' gain
1326 calories
Its what my Garmin says. I hear that it's an exaggerated estimate given by Garmin too, but what the hell, why not.Just how do we know that you really burned 1326 calories
How does one do a mellow 35.9 mile/5640 ft gain mountain bike ride?Mellow cruise with my buddy Tony. After nine days off the bike and a hectic work week I definitely felt this one. Glad to be out there!

How many hours involved in a non-mellow 35.9 mile mountain bike ride that includes 5640' gain?By taking 4+ hours...
Because it’s like Strava....like... duhIts what my Garmin says. I hear that it's an exaggerated estimate given by Garmin too, but what the hell, why not.
BTW, how do we really know that you actually got 2,212 ft gain?
I averaged my pace over my last few rides that were similar in miles to elevation and came up with about 3.5 hours. How many hours involved in a non-mellow 35.9 mile mountain bike ride that includes 5640' gain?
OMG... like, totally OMG!Because it’s like Strava....like... duh
That's a HUGE decrease. I am very disappointed in your performance today. Better get back out there tomorrow and work on it.I averaged my pace over my last few rides that were similar in miles to elevation and came up with about 3.5 hours.
I'll blame it on Tony. He passed down his metalworking business to his son and has had to help him out the last couple of weeks. He was dragging so I felt it was my duty to keep him company. That's a HUGE decrease. I am very disappointed in your performance today. Better get back out there tomorrow and work on it.
@mtnbikej , @TheProfessor and I did a mellow ride at the beach today... It really was mellow. Lots of stopping to enjoy the sights... We hit some of the usual suspects: Camarillo, Stagecoach, Old Emerald, BFI, Fenceline, Missing Link, etc... We ended up cutting it short, though, so as not to kill the Professor.
Fun day on the stealth Lizard.
Burritos at Sharky's afterwards...
40 miles and 6500 feet...
Coming down BFI... Had to stop for the view.

As I was looking at the two Chameleons side by side at Ridge Park, I had a feeling of deja vu...
From July 2016... Two Highballs. Both have gone to the bicycle graveyard in the sky.

Total score with the kitty sightings! (Kitty sighting you, vice versa ). TFPU!Not really a solo GE ride! There were lots of bear prints, I saw a mama bobcat and her cub, the cub was so curious about me that he stopped, sat and watched me watching him..it was awesome! Also lots of hunters out there, more than usual for that area. Two other mtn bikers who took the FR the whole way, they weren’t interested in saying hi so I just went on my way
Oh and hardly any bugs, it was a bit too chilly for them today..yass!
Such a perfect day, the kind that makes your heart feel full
