I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I hang my bikes on hooks screwed into the rafters, except for the XTC because I ran out of places to hang, so it sits on my workbench unless I'm riding it. Or using the workbench for something. I'm a fanatic about having both cars in the garage at night.

Thought about hanging them with a pulley system of some sort.. the beams are 12’ up so can’t use hooks. Really looking to have a rack so I can just grab a bike a ride. It will hold my BMX and my kids bikes too.

Maybe some thing like this wood or PVC.. hmmmm

Thanks, dudes. Pinterest showed me this one that looks like it’d be perfect in my spot. Taking the family to Disneyland this afternoon but might sneak a trip to Home Depot to get supplies to make it tomorrow.

Check out the old Klein!

Thinking of anchoring some eye bolts in the ground for locking them all up.

Currently lock them in here but a pain to get in and out.

Not the fanciest but simple, cheap & effective.

Also have a feedback and while it's simple I don't know if I'd recommend these unless you were hooking several together or screwing it to the floor.

Scorpion is good for a single bike and comes in handy when working on your bike.

I didn't ride my bike today.. yet? Will it happen? It's definitely the plan, but entropy and recent experience says "NO!"

So far Ms. Kioti and I wired the back fence to keep out rattlers (had one in the house recently), I rehabbed my dear old Jamis fs for sale, I finished "The Midnight Cool " by Lydia Peelle and started "The Cartel" by Don Winslow, and I just finished spraying a primer coat on a kitchen's worth of cabinet doors and drawer fronts. Oh, and laundry/dishes/..

So, just keep moving in that direction-- check those stem bolts, fill the water bottle..

Update: Whiting's close by, and I kept moving, but I can't talk about it here.

Cuzz... Met up with some pals for a day of climbing at Turkey Rocks.

Off the couch for the weez and me, so the gravity was all-time...and now I feel like my gang didn't show up to the gang fight. But we did have fun, struggled up stuff, and finally got to hang out with the legend Jimmie Dunn. The man is amped as ever at 68, and climbs with the power and grace of someone who pioneered decades of hard routes all over the US. Lots of people at the crags enjoying great fall weather. Good times. What I used to do every weekend before the MTB sickness...

Well, it might be another couple of weeks until I get back on the bike. This time, it's good news. Monday we had a 3 week early surprise when my wife was sent to Huntington Memorial to induce labor. That evening, after an emergency c section we welcomed our first child to the world. Gonna be spending s lot of time with my new son, and helping my wife over the next little while.

Enjoy it...you'll blink and they'll be asking for the car keys.

Cornholio-
I made these and I think they're too noodley/flexy. Go for a design that's got some beef

That's awesome... Like scissors says above, enjoy the time. It really does fly by.

OK, not as nice as Las Brisas.. but I did turn on the A/C this afternoon and it was blowing warm air. So I looked outside and the fan wasn't turning, which led me to the low voltage line coming out of the house and the discovery that even though only one inch of wire was unprotected, it'd still been eaten through by a rat. And since the wire comes out of a hole in the wall, I hauled the armoire and a bunch of other crap out of the way, cut out a chunk of drywall and found that one or more rats had been living in the insulation and storing blocks of rat poison :bang: and my lab's dried poop. :poop: Lots of it. So I cleaned it all out up to the fire block and spliced in some new wire and the A/C was back in business, but I lost my shot at an afternoon ride.

And tomorrow I've got to get that wire into some conduit and patch some holes in the drywall and get the armoire and all that stuff back where it belongs, not to mention..

So if I'm posting here again tomorrow night I'm going to be rolling into the work week with a bit of a bad attitude:mad: so let's just hope I can wrap this up quick and jump on that bike and get some miles in and start the week off cool, calm, rat-free and collected. Oh, yes, and I'll have the tropical ice tea, please, and perhaps a shrimp cocktail to kick things off? :whistling:o_O:thumbsup:
