I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Local trails closed this morning. Took my bike in for a quick brake bleed instead. My mechanic serves as therapist too (like a bartender). He doesn't charge extra for the sympathetic ear.

I have to wonder...

In two years, and over 2,500 miles, my brakes have been bled a total of zero times. What is it that would necessitate a brake bleed in the absence of a brake (caliper, not pads) replacement???

Inquiring minds want to know. :geek:
When the levers are inconsistent for no reason...

I am very picky - I want to know exactly where my bite point will be as I head for the next turn. If it's almost at the bar on one pull, and 1.5" out on the next pull, it's time to bleed.

Beautiful morning, but this is the window I need to stain my redwood deck and have it nice and dried by the next rain. Knew it was time but the gully washers we've had have cleaned it to the point where I can see the bare wood exposed (that dirt and dust was good at hiding it for a while).

Listed my house for sale last Tues., had some walk throughs Thurs., massively attended open houses Sat. and yesterday. Knots in my stomach for a week. Have some offers already, will get the poop on the cumulative activity to date in the next couple of days. Judging by interest, which admitted is bs until the offer is in writing (and even then...) we may sell very soon for a premium to list price which was inflated by as much as 10% over top price depending on the range of comps used.

No place to go to yet, so no stress there. One moment at a time...

Maybe tomorrow I ride with the wind.

Cuzz this...

That's mine in the pink. She's had lessons before, but today was her first chairlift day. I think she did about 10 or more runs. All day lesson at Mt. High is great. Lift ticket, rentals, snack and lunch for $125. Good ski/snowboard school.

Dad watched for a little while, then debated between skis and snowboard. Opted for the skis as the snow was really quite hard. Once the snow softened up, I went for the snowboard. I think I did 9 full-length runs on skis and 2 on snowboard - all between 11:00 and 2:30 - including a lunch break at the Bullwheel. No crowds.

Oh, and remember this? http://www.imtbtrails.com/forum/threads/i-didnt-ride-my-bike-today-cuzz.2961/page-30#post-74351

Yeah, well, when she got the stitches out after two weeks, they discovered it was infected. Not surprised, as she is susceptible to infections based on other medications she takes for RA. They had to basically rip everything out, pull out a bunch of dead skin, open the wound down to the bone and start over with an open-wound healing process (about 4" by 2" and 1/2" deep). I won't post the picture because it is hideous. My wife is tougher than all y'all! Well, tougher than most anyway, including her husband. I would be a whiny lump of blubber if that happened to me.

Stan's wouldn't seal it?

You know, I have a can of that fix-a-flat I take with me on remote off-road drives and I thought about using it rather than hassling with the spare. I read that some tire places won't even deal with tires filled with it and that it makes a real mess, reminded me of those who say tubeless is too messy to deal with on a bike. Can you use Stans in cars or is it just wheel barrows and things like that they advertise for it?

Oh, I did NOT ride my bike on my day off on Tuesday because of this tire debacle.

I also won't be able to plan a Saturday morning ride because my wife needs me to watch the lil dude while she goes to an 8:30am SATURDAY doctors appointment!
