I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

I made it outside for about 6 seconds before the coughing set in and I gave myself a headache... Air isn't supposed to be chunky. When the air does clear, the Sutra is ready to roll.

I can't imagine what the wildlife and firefighters are going through up there...

I worked. And it was hard to be outside for more than a minute at a time this morning. But then the wind changed from SE to SW and while that didn't clear the air, it did dilute it enough so that the throat and eye burning stuff had moved out. Now, we are back to getting whiffs of smoke instead of constantly choking on it. Winds are light and variable for the next few days (but mostly out of the East) so it will be like a tide of smoke moving in and out and swirling around. Yuck.

Cuzz... The forest is closed, and the music studio is open. :geek:

Drop acoustic guitars, bass, a little voice, desire, expedience into laptop, mix somewhat un-thoroughly... You get the start of a new song: It doesn't have words or a name

Notes:
I'm undecided whether it will have lyrics at all. I noodled out the chorus chords some days ago, everything else was devised and laid down today. The main guitar heard is my Seagull solid-top 12-string acoustic. It had never been used for recording. It's a 30-year-old beater that my guitar tech buddy brought back to full glory last year. It was mic'ed, has no electronics. Although my 6-string acoustic is electric, I mic'ed it to get the warm acoustic sound for some background and lead. Cheap, used 4-string bass works for this not-a-bass-player. Ian in GarageBand is the drummer – he's got the Manchester shuffle-y sound down. That little voice transition is 4-5 tracks with my normal and falsetto voice. No alcohol or cannabis influence this time.

Very cool bones. Yes - vocals. Tell a story. I suggest something with a conspiracy theory theme. o_O

Seriously, I enjoy your music. Thanks for the share.

Yes, vocals. Soft voice vocals.

Unfortunately with my asthma and allergies this smoke is a killer for me... can't even ride the motorcycle to work... had to put the top back on the jeep... and biking is over for the time being... mowed the yard today and that is my limit... back to some Call of Duty, beer and ice cream while i read about all your adventures during these smoky times. hopefully the new bike will arrive Wednesday and at least i can focus on building that up.

Ride on!!

Yep. Riding isn't in the plan up here for a month......

Over 200,000 ac so far 8% contained.
The Creek Fire has taken away alot of trails, and the fire fighting equipment has taken the rest of them.....
There is going to be alot of trail work ahead of us. Hopefully this winter will be dry.
Yikes!!! My step dad and his wife live in Mariposa, it seems like every year they have a fire threat from one side or another!
Stay safe and keep those lungs clean

AQI was averaging 120 yesterday evening, so went for a short walk around Caroline Park with 2/3 of the kids. Nice to get out for a minute! Still pretty high for me to want to go for a bike ride or longer walk where I'm really sucking in a lot of 2.5s. It's back up to 175 this morning, so glad we grabbed it when we could!

The AQI is 87 in Orange, so will get out today. May try a KN95, which seems less restrictive than N95, and see how that goes. Was really surprised by the AQI in San Francisco which seemed to have been inundated with debris --- 14.

I had to go look... Bay area looking great! Peninsula is in the teens and twenties, Marin is 8 to 12! East Bay a little bit high going into the 50s and 60s. They had a rough few weeks, so glad it's clearing out for them!
