I DIDN'T Ride My Bike Today, Cuzz....

Actually, I haven't ridden since Sunday.

After being out all day in the sun on Saturday's Death March...I may have become a bit dehydrated. I thought I was doing a good job of rehydrating. So I rode with Suz on Sunday afternoon. I wasn't feeling so great before the ride, but went anyway thinking I'd feel better once moving.

Turns out I had a stomach bug that clamped down and bit me Sunday night. Puking my guts out all night.....couldn't keep anything down. Well, that led to even more dehydration on Monday. Felt ok Tuesday morning....then about 5:30 that afternoon, things went from 0 to 100 in minutes. The unmistakable pain of a kidney stone. Within mins I was dropped to my knees. A trip to the ER 2 hours later as it was only getting worse....worse than the last time this happened. They confirmed what I thought. A very rough night once we got home. Think it might have passed early this afternoon. Spent a majority of the day sleeping.

What a week so far.
Hope you feel better soon!
Now you have me wondering if that is one of the pains I get after I go bike riding and don't drink enough water, I get this pain on my left side and it hurts like hell, it usually goes away slowly but usually happens after a long ride.

I describe it as having a really bad fart bubble that you can't get out....that is how it starts. Then it becomes exscruciating pain on the backside just above the belt line. It then begins to move around to the side then front of your abdomen. I have talked to my PCP before about this and she said this as close to childbirth pain that men can encounter.

Sounds exactly like one of the pains I experience but after several test Dr's said kidneys are fine? My wife thinks I just have a lot of gas, because I get a lot of stomach pains also? I don't waste my time anymore going to Dr office, I get the pains but they can't figure it out so not wasting time or money for now. I''ll just try to drink more water.

You can get some discomfort in the kidneys when you are dehydrated.....doesn't mean stones. Usually that is what you'll notice when your urine is a dark color. More water usually fixes that.

I have a very high tolerance for pain and discomfort....and this knocked me to my knees.

I passed one a few years ago. I couldn't believe the amount of pain something about the size of half a grain of rice could cause. Glad you're feeling better J.

...because I was cave diving...

What'd you get? And what kind of truck? :D
I think it has a motor, 4 wheels and an open bed.

Might be Vroom Vroom Vroom, or Clack Clack Clack

All I know is it will haul bikes. :whistling:

I went with the Guacamole Bacon burger and garlic fries at Red Robin. :D :inlove:

The truck? Dodge... 4x4 with the baby diesel... And it does have ass coolers. I've owned trucks in the past that didn't have FM radio. Oh, the times they are a changin'... o_O

I didn't ride my bike today, because the wife and I jumped in the new truck this afternoon and took a ride down to Harrah's. Nice dinner and a little gambling... We were down about $100 and ready to leave when my wife sat at a slot machine with howling wolves. I said, "Oh, hit the max bet button once and let's go..." She did just that, and it promptly rung up a screen full of white wolves worth $250. Time to leave!

But the real moral of the story is that she should listen to me more often. :Roflmao

Had to do the annual physical thing, and the doc is never available on my Friday off. Damned vampires can never find my veins...took three different sticks. :bang: They said I shouldn't be such a camel; drink water beforehand and it'll be easier, they said. But I'm not thirsty.....

All y'all worried about sun exposure - I say go get probed when you're supposed to get probed.

Got home and finished digging up the palm tree stump in the yard. It's flippin' hot and humid. That was not fun.

We wanted to take a hike today down by the Truckee River, so we drove down and out of the snow to what looked like a good spot for it.

But a short way in, the way we wanted to go was closed, roped off and signed. Earlier, two endurBros passed us and headed up, pushing their bikes up some trail above us. So rather than get shut down, we just took off hiking where they went.

After a short distance it became very obvious we were on a bike-specific ST trail that had had a lot of work done to it. Incredible, steep berms, many kickers and drops, steep dirt and even some gaps and rock outcrops. We powered up at least 2000 unrelenting feet above the river on this sik trail, thinking any second the bros would be bombing down on us. We turned back after we'd had enough, but the trail continued on.

I can find no official mention of it anywhere. I can see it on Maps, and it appears to eventually connect with a forest road. Whatever, I'm going back ASAP and pushing my bike all the way up that beast. That will be one badass descent – one I'd likely never ride if not for bumbling around without my bike.
