Lordy Lordy Lordy that is hot, classy, sexy, bold, mean, sweet, tuff, fast, XC, enduro, DH, Park, all in one. You have a skill for spec'ing out a bike.

If any bike was ever worth the wait, it's this one. The M.O.A.F. (The mother of all Foes) Merica' rules

First ride. Rode in my kitchen. Able to maneuver around the islands and actually the bike was pretty nimble.

Second ride: Went with son - cardio beast with limited DH skills. Meadows - stairs - Willow - Lizards -(anonymous trail)- home. So, I waited in the middle of the downs. Actually a pretty good way to do a shake down cruise. But just scratching the surface.

Climbing: wow those magic Mary tires r beefy.

Like driving a HumVee. But the long climbs were fine. Even Cholla was fine. Traction for DAYS. That single pivot is interestingly simple. Actually passed son on Cholla climb (and all climbs except Willow. He crushed me on Willow- a 12-14 minute fire road climb- but he was showing off - and paid for it on the climb to the house). Meadows was a blast. Couldn't see any of the turns due to growth of mustard but carried tons of speed without any care or concern.

Stairs: I waited for son at waterfall intersection so terrible time. But, WOW. The bike just ate up the waterfall. ATE IT UP. Instead of looking for the easiest line, the bike just said "No you pussy, we are going THIS way" and dropped the biggest drops on the waterfall- with me just grinning. The rest of the trail was just fun.

Willow was a slog - but Willow is always a slog. Didn't seem any harder or easier. Traction at the top of that first pitch was crazy good. I could have caught son if I wanted to burn some matches, but I wanted to be able to make the final climb to the house without dying.

Lizards - Hoo Boy! Again, waited for son in a few spots - just a HumVee baby!

Mystery trail to The highway.

The climb home was fine. I looped back to climb with son after he popped.

(He had done a 40 ish mile hike on Thursday - stringing together the three peaks that tower over Bishop- Tom, Emerson and some other peak- so his reserves weren't there - or at least that was his excuse as to why his 52 y o old man put him in the trash can. :) )

Can't wait to ride this bike on some real trails.

@herzalot and @dustyyoungblood this bike is MADE for a few of the drops that are off the menu. We need to ride soon!

Stoked as always.

I made the right choice. The Trail version would have been too close to the Bronson - can't wait to bomb some stuff.

Why Magic Mary's instead of let's say........Minion's?
I just think that the traction on the Mary is a different level. Especially for the front tire. I know that it is a VERY inefficient rear tire from every perspective other than max grip in critical situations - but I chose and built up this bike for max fun in critical situations. It will make me a better climber - I guess.

Also glad that I stuck with XX1 and did not go with eagle. The granny is granny enough and the shifts are perfection - just like XX1 seems to always be. Oval chainring is kind of cool, don't know if it makes a difference, placebo effect perhaps.

This sounds really good for a shakedown ride.
There are some anti squat characteristics you will learn to enjoy on the short punchy climbs, cholla, others.
The chassis is confidence inspiring in tense chunck situations. The straight line speed is something I have not experienced on other bikes.

Okay, so after a hundred or so miles and 20k feet or so, I can't really give a review of this bike that will matter to anyone. It's an Enduro bike, so I can't really compare it to anything else that I have ever ridden - cuz it's the first Enduro bike I have ever ridden.

So I will just leave it at this: long slog climbs are harder. The cockpit position and overall "fit" is perfection - I can ride this bike for four hours - and still be looking for chutes to drop when I should be riding for home. I am
Still trying to find the right body position for super steep climbs. The Magura brakes are - well - I am changing out the brakes on my Bronson to Maguras next time I service it. The Lyric fork is a monster - and I love it. Yesterday after I rode 5 Oaks and then hit Stairsteps and then dropped TnA, I thought, this is fun but "I need to start dropping tougher trails - bcz this bike can handle anything, and when I am riding it, I feel like I can handle anything." (I can't, by the way)

So, I guess that's my review. It's a bike that I can pedal just as long and far as my Bronson, and I can drop whatever trails are droppable for weekend joes like me - even with 35 miles and 4K in my legs. I'd say, all in all, it's a pretty cool rig.

I seen your strava, you aren't giving up much on the super steep climbs that most walk :)
