FYI, I went with 180mm rotors f/r on my build. The magura mt trails are performing GREAT, but I did smoke my rear a little on TNA. So if you are DH a ton you might want to commit to 203mm rotors if you are hammering. I was dragging a lot though cause I had not seen it in years. You probably flow it all no brakes

Thx for the 411 on the brakes! As for TnA (what's left of it) I pick through that rock garden as slowly as a pensioner looking for recyclables in beach trash cans on July 5. If you call that flow, I FLOW baby!

I had to stop twice to gain my composure, mentally I was OTB laying on a cactus. man, advancing past 40 years really F@cked with my confidence on the nasty. But for some sick reason I want to go do it 100 more runs. Now for stair steps, it's been just as many years.......

@dustyyoungblood It's a drug!

I will be riding Sunday morning with my bros. leaving DT Laguna at 8. We will either do a double TnA (climb Bommer, drop TnA, climb Willow, do a few other drops, then drop TnA at the end) or Mentally, Five Oaks, Stairs, then up Willow, down TnA.

It is a little sketchy on the Pivot, but it's a cool challenge.

Like I tell my buddies, I just hang on and trust the German dude who designed my frame. :)

Letter sent @dustyyoungblood ! Enve is WAY behind in production - apparently their hoops are too inexpensive. F it. I tried to buy American made, but BAD customer service means I try a new brand. Looking like Nox as @mtnbikej suggested. Not super stoked that my shop didn't manage this issue proactively and it took calls by me to push the issue. Waiting still!

Very happy with my NOX Farlows, been on them almost 2 years now with DT240s and only touched them once for a loose spoke. 29mm internal is a nice spot to be at for non plus tires.

Mark at Pro Bike Supply in Newport can help ya out if you decide to try a different shop.

Oh damn that sucks. Looks like enve is to busy high fiving each other about their massive new facility to ship orders. Sucks

I am to poor for the CF wheels I wanted. But if envy was out.... NOX or NOBL seem pretty attractive

Those Bontrager Line 30 carbon wheels look pretty nice, and through a LBS you get support and a warranty that is nearby, plus at $1200, its a bargain.

1200 looks like a really good deal. I wondering about the quality of the Bontrager hubs? I know hubs aren't really rocket science...but hubs and spokes are common place to cut cost in building price point wheels.

I just ordered another pair of carbon hoops from China. They are for my GF's plus bike. They are asymmetrical and internally 39mm. They will be just at 1k including labor to build them up with Hope Pro 4 hubs from Jenson.

Just looked up what I paid for my NOX Farlows on DT240s and it was $1526.

Here's the build from my invoice:

Rims - Nox Farlow 29er 32H
Decals - White or Black (other custom decals available for an additional charge)
Front Hub - DT-Swiss 240s, 6-Bolt, 15mm, 32H
Rear Hub - DT-Swiss 240s, 6 Bolt, 12x142mm, 32H, Sram XD Freehub
Spokes - Sapim CX Ray Bladed, Black
Nipples - DT-Swiss Brass, Black

Here is another article about Bontrager's new wheels, and why they can offer such great prices, its a great read about the industry and Bontrager's thinking.

I've read that article. Their prices are highly competitive if you're comparing big company prices. To the masses it is a great price. To the guys that have been building their wheels a la cart with open mold carbon...they are an *meh* deal. If you're a shop employee and can get them at employee pricing direct through Trek...it's a steal:D.
