E-motorcycle Collision San Clemente

I posted about a pit bike running around at Sycamore Canyon in Riverside, riding UP the jump line, and a few people jumped in to tell me I was wrong for calling him out. I don't think talking Sh!t to eBikes is going to go far anymore.

One of those "fathers of mountain biking" who lives in Laguna Beach has been posting videos over the last year of himself climbing the most technical DH trails down there. Although he may have the smarts to have spotters, how long before his knucklehead followers emulate that? o_O

Crazy...

I’ve been doing it for years…

Not sure it would make very interesting video though.

Ahhh, yes.....the washed up old "pro's" who can't accept the fact that they are no longer relevant....thus have to post crap like that to feel.....important.

I take anything any sponsored athlete does with a grain of salt. Regardless of their level of support, they are biased. Does Aaron Gwin actually enjoy is eBike, or does Intense MAKE him like his eBike? I don't know, don't care. Does the Insta "influencer" like those gloves, or does the free gloves every year mean they say they like those gloves?

Do you think it still helps bring in endorsements/sponsorships? Could be a cash stream as well as ego stroke.

I unsubscribed from OutsiderMTB's YouTube channel because it was getting very sponsor heavy (which, good for him, but I can't trust any product/bike review after that) and because he started posting videos of him riding an eBike on our local trails. I used to really enjoy his bike videos, but I can't support that.

All ego stroke.
One big Billy Squire tribute song!

All y'all are the only people I trust for bike advice/reviews!

While I don't disagree with you. But, perhaps it has to do with a paycheck? There aren't many (if any) ex pros that can survive off of their winnings from years past. I'd say it's staying relevant in order to get a paycheck.

Which in turn is still linked to the ego. None of us likes to believe we are getting worse and worse at something we were highly competent doing.

I unsub'ed from him after his incident on Rockit when he yelled at the guy for being in his way at the bottom of the rock garden. It was obvious the OUTSIDER was going way too fast to safely control his bike.

That is a damn shame. I have not seen that video.
He is a better rider than me, so I won't comment on his skills, but he is very influential with a huge following ... one would hope he would act accordingly.

Unfortunately, I know of another somewhat popular tuber in the area that has also set a bad example. It is VERY easy to become a dick (I am already there). Once you put it on the internet, you just tell the world who you are.

I do try not to be a dick, I do. One of my friends is a tuber (but small time for fun) and being Canadian is one of the nicest guys. I am on my best behavior when I am with him :Roflmao

"The older I get... the better I was."
I finally accepted that last year. It was hard to grasp, but the volume of annual injuries told me that I keep running out of talent trying to match prior days.

Sheesh! I'm 63 Years old now. There is no way I can keep up with me when I was 30!

Yup. I imagine he couldn't even figure out how to get a gig driving for Uber if he wanted to.
Sometimes you're soo deep in your career as a "celebrity," that you just have to keep at it long after your expiration date.
