Coronavirus. Not to be confused with Norcovirus.

Governor Noisome, Mayors Garcetti and ilk, are criminally culpable for fanning the panic. The damage they're doing far outweighs the virus itself.

News outlets are right up there with them.
This shouldn’t be political thing. Red party leaders are making similar calls in other areas, obviously not the size of CA but taking similar precautions for their constituents. I’m in board with the decision. My mom lives in Eagle Rock and I’m deeply troubled that things will get out of hand in California specifically due to the density in population. The media (cnn, Fox) are all making a big deal of this of course, but this is some real serious stuff. My family and I have been hunkered down up here in WA. The only thing that I have been doing is riding my bike and practicing social distancing. I hope for all of you that your families stay safe and that at the very least you can get out and enjoy nature riding your bike as we ride this thing out.

It's not political. It's them, personally.

We're actually running peak numbers right now. It seems every time there's an economic crisis we just get busier. Hang in there everyone.

If'n I remember my botany correctly, C. sativa is a weed and not all that hard to cultivate.

This may explain just how ridiculous some things are.

Grows like a weed. But unless you know what you're doing, that's what you'll be smoking-weed.

Today's bud is highly refined, requiring large amounts of properly timed nutrients and timed light sequences. Identifying sexes, topping, humidity, constant fan, all this adds up to a shop rate of $10+ a gram.
3.5g ×$10= $35, right?
With 34% tax the cost is now $46.90, making a gram total cost $13.40

Sorry Guvner, and Mista Mayor, taxes are for the rich, and I feel the need for some weed!

FWIW... I'm going to be going to Joshua Tree next week with my daughter to hang out. Perfect place for some social distancing and a "legal" exercise outing.

The National Park is OPEN but they have closed the visitor center. Additionally, they aren't collecting fees at the gates.

I like how during his press conference last night Newsom was less than 6’ from the other guys up thrrr and I think they used the same f’in mike. And now trump and cronies are on screen not 6’ apart.
All of them had done full body baths in rubbing alcohol prior to going up on stage and they wearing wear oxy tanks on their backs with respirators that were plumbed directly into the lungs through their backs (which you could not see) so they were not breathing through their heads or mouths. It was clear that this was uncomfortable by the constant fidgeting being done by the Long Beach Mayor who was up on the stage behind the others as they took turns speaking.

This has been a report done by The Fake News. Have a wonderful day and stay home!

Maybe I can join you for a ride through Section 6? We've got a pad up on Yucca Mesa.

My sister just had someone rent their big bear cabin for 2 months to get out of the city. Great idea if you can.

She's head of quality control at a hospital here in So Cal. They've put up isolation tents in the parking lot expecting more patients. The hospital is out of ventilators due ot this virus, and have some back up ventilators coming in.
Surprising enough about half the patients are young, contrary to some things I've read.
Her assessment is that if nothing changes they'll be completely overwhelmed in the next 10-14 days. This has gotten very real very fast.

Please stay safe and stay healthy.

Uh... they just shut down Amazon shipping in California for anything they consider "non-essential". What that means is "anything you need that isn't food you can no longer can have delivered here".

I can have all my orders delivered to my house in North Carolina... but if I try to have anything delivered here in California I am getting a "non-delivery" message. Yay government!! Way to FORCE people to leave their homes!!!

I’m still able to pick and ship internet orders for Honda parts ordered online. My USPS carrier hasn’t questioned or mentioned any type of restriction.
Maybe because I’m on the essential business list :Barefoot:

I think this is specific to Amazon. The government has the ability to threaten them in ways that would be more difficult to do to sole proprietors. I heard yesterday they were "considering" it... but now I can't have stuff delivered. I would estimate that Costco and Amazon jointly make up more than 95% of my retail purchasing. If they shut down Amazon they are FORCING me to go out.

[EDIT] Here ya go... from the source:

As COVID-19 has spread, we've recently seen an increase in people shopping online which has had an impact on how we serve our customers. So in the short term, we are making the decision to temporarily prioritize household staples, medical supplies and other high-demand products coming into our fulfillment centers so we can more quickly receive, restock and ship these products to customers.

Interesting that this is only impacting shipments to California(?) when I can ship stuff elsewhere without a problem.

You may want to re-read or read up on this a bit more. "Essential" means food, household staples, and virus related goods - things people need right now to be able to live. Amazon won't be accepting shipments from its merchants to its warehouses of non-essential goods. But sellers can still sell non-essential items via Amazon and ship those items themselves, they just won't likely come from Amazon warehouses for now.

We get it, you hate the government. But this policy is coming from Amazon not the State of California. Please stop fearmongering.

LOL - who's fear-mongering? Aside from the fact that Amazon is doing this on their own - instead of being forced to do it - is anything I said untrue? Can you please share your source for your statement? Can you please help me understand who gets to make the call of what is "essential" to be able to live? Toilet paper hoarding? One more case of face masks that don't work to protect from a virus? A 40lb bag of rice that will go bad before anyone gets the chance to use it?

Give me a break.

So why do we not address the multitudes of people who die from POLLUTION worldwide every year, by forcing regulations on businesses to clean up their act? Or the US provide health care to everyone regardless of income, so people don’t die from lack of that? Because it might tank the economy!??
shouldn't we respond equally to all threats to health and life?
