Still only $42 per person.hmm.......found an air bnb cabin in big bear at $195 night with 4 rooms/8 guests but when entered the dates it changes to $339 /night! Freaking bait and switch!

Phooey. I've already looked up a couple of places and there are still some available for $80 a night. That's cheap as far as I'm concerned.2 night minimum....has 3 queen beds and a king, spa, pool table..

Thanks for checking. The Tour de Big Bear road cycling event is 8/3. That might make the drive up or home a bit tougher.

Snow SummitIs this Santa's Village?
I thought skyline? Hence the title.Snow Summit
No. Snow Summit is considerably further up the road. And while there is a lift-served bike park, this ride will be the Skyline Trail and a mix of others. So it will involve some high(ish) altitude climbing (6500-8000'). No chairlifts for this ride, although you could probably make it work.Is this Santa's Village?

Umm, Upper Fern is steep and Plumbers is even steeper. So,...None of the climbing is steep, but it sneaks up on you. You can do it!
I don't recall anything particularly steep, and you know how much I like to climb. I recall Fern, I don't recall Plumbers.Umm, Upper Fern is steep and Plumbers is even steeper. So,...
I do not think that you were there the last time I was there when we did a big group ride on Skyline. We started in the SS parking lot, climbed Fern and went across 2N10 onto Plumbers (Skyline East). That one will get your ticker going and it's a riot to come back down.I don't recall anything particularly steep, and you know how much I like to climb. I recall Fern, I don't recall Plumbers.
That said, I usually do Skyline from the West - starting at Aspen Glen (Mill Creek Road) - working my way up Plantation, then Skyline - either direction. Sometimes both.
