I don't think I've ever seen one, but a friend who live in RSM has posted multiple videos of them in action the last couple of weeks.

I've seen more of the tarantula hawks this year than last, but still fewer than typical.
Pretty sure I was stung by one once some years ago. Damn it floored me , was everything I could do to stop the bike and lie down writhing in pain before I ended up crashing. :confused: pulled out a stinger that was like a small roofing nail.
Take it from me, don't let them fly up your shorts.
 
And we have these creatures around the ranch.
I don't think it's safe to go outside anymore.

They usually don't but I too have seen one climb (a stucco wall and take refuge on an outdoor wall light). That was a really weird thing to see.

Tarantula hawks have the second most painful sting in the animal kingdom, after bullet ants. There is a guy on YouTube who goes out to get stung by all the worst ones, including one of these. A quick search would bring it up.

Actually, those figures have recently changed. The Executioner Wasp figures higher in there somewhere now.
 
Downieville: A lady was being bothered by a black bear at her home. She just invested in bars for her windows to keep the bruin out. Neighbors noticed her front door was open. Checking it out the found the lady had invited the bear in for dinner, She was the main course. It had been days and the bear had many a good meal.

I clicked like, but don't like. That's awful.
 
Almost got the trifecta this morning. Been seeing a couple coyotes hanging out on Hillcrest near 5th lately. Today saw them, but with a juvenile sitting in the middle of the road as well.

then as I was climbing through the neighborhood past the canyon entrance a walker said there was a bear a few houses up. Wasn’t there when I passed by though. I wonder if the same one is back around again.
Finally, saw 4 deer.
